We just had a couple of Mavericks (along with other vehicles) delivered that had been sitting at the ramp for 4-6 weeks. The transport driver said that the company contracted to do it doesn't have enough drivers and that his company has been called in to help out.
We really can't predict when...
Interesting Q, @NextTruck!
It very well may depend on how the dealership is structured......
I work for a small, rural, family-owned dealership, so I don't have much insight into the large and multi-store dealerships.
In the case of the local ones that I know more about, the different...
Is this an unscheduled 22 that you reordered as 23 in September? Or a cancelled 22 that you had to reorder in November?
A dealer's allocation will be taken up by retail and stock orders. I don't think it really matters if you had an unscheduled 22 and ordered again. I don't think that that has...
No, previewing is a dealer term. We get reports on Tues and Wed and can see which orders are "previewing" (i.e. likely to schedule). We typically won't know for sure which orders have scheduled until sometime on Thurs.
That's pretty close to it! You need to sprinkle some luck and randomness on the process too.
It is my understanding that every week, for every vehicle line, that the dealers are put in a random order for scheduling. Each dealer who has allocation will (possibly) have one vehicle chosen for...
I agree!!
We only get a limited amount of information...but I don't think that the miss-match is as bad for any other vehicle line at the moment. (But I wouldn't be surprised if SuperDuty ends up with too many orders as well). The # of fleet orders and how much allocation saved for fleet...
My guess is that it was moved to priority 02, which prevents any changes.
Changes for retail orders can only be made when priority is 10-19. Obviously, if it has scheduled, it would also be locked for changes.
Can your dealer or Ford chat confirm what your current priority code is?
Yes, that is very clear.
Yes, I would hope that all transitioned orders are built in 23, but what you say about the hybrids is certainly possible. Unless things change, there will be quite a few hybrid orders that are never scheduled.
I think Ford is just trying to shift blame to the dealers...
There will probably be a fair number of stock EBs built. A dealer may be able to enter in a stock EB that would fit your specs - you'd want to work w/ one you trust to keep their word and offer to sell to you first.
Was your initial order COVPd properly?? The private offer is tied to the 22 Maverick offering being approved through COVP.
Dealers received instructions as of who to contact if they have a customer who should have gotten the private offer, but didn't.
If your 22 was approved in COVP, this...
The bold words are directly from Ford. That is all the info that dealers have now.
You are right. There is no information either way about whether or not unscheduled 23 orders would be prioritized for reordering a 24.
They don't want customers to expect an incentive if their order remains...
Customer Order Verification Program (in order to be eligible for scheduling all 22 Mavs had to be verified by Ford (by COVP or ROVP)). The private transition incentive for 22 -> 23 was connected to this.
The quote simply says that they are not planning on offering an incentive ($$) to people...
There really wasn't a "rollover" for 22 -> 23. People had to place a new retail order.
A "rollover", is like what happened to the cancelled 22s....Ford duplicated the orders and transferred to 23, and gave priority.
This is all that Ford has told dealers about 22 -> 24 Maverick (and is...
Hmmmmm doesn't seem right to me. Push to 2024 = wait until next fall and reorder.
Based on Maverick order constraints that Ford sent to dealers last week....it looks to me like there is extra capacity for XLT Lux, ie. more capacity than there are orders.
Now, it may be a glitch in...
That's not how it works...... Ford won't cancel orders, because they don't now no which orders will be built and which ones won't.
Allocation at this point is "expected" and subject to change. Let's say a dealer is "expected" to get 50 Mav allocations this year. That would amount to around 18...
Was that Honda's policy, or the dealership's?
Dealers have to be cautious...especially w/ engine tunes. They don't want to perform a warranty repair, and have the manufacturer disagree and charge them back.
With just lift kit/lowering, the dealer will probably not want to touch any suspension...
