The sea is beautiful - and can be extremely dangerous... But as someone once said "Aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity, or neglect."
My old instructor added this: "And the...
This gift might have been from Ford themselves, as LOTS of us got that exact YETI tumbler for having the recall completed.
As for "Too nice to use" - I use mine every day, and it keeps stuff cold for several hours!
Does not disadvantage YOU one iota. Priority only comes into play once your dealer has an allocation, and Ford has given the allocation to that dealership. Ford would then be looking at which vehicle in that dealer's queue they will selecte to build.
So, if Ford has an XLT Hybrid slot...
Did I read that last part right? "If you want a safe vehicle go back to the '70's"? Even the smallest, cheapest car today is FAR safer than the best cars from the '70s...
But as for being "worried" about the "fire risk recall" - I'm not concerned. Odds are ridiculously low, with a total of...
Mine took six days from when it went into "In Production" status until it finally showed as "Built." And yes, I got the same "Dear John" letter after the build should have started according to the "schedule" as you did. I'm speculating that may well be an "automated" message any time a vehicle...
Sounds like you ARE getting built. I had a similar "hiccup" in my order process, but once it showed "in production" it went smoothly after that. Mine is on its way, and should be here in a couple of weeks.
Plenty of time to change the color. You can do so right up to the build date. So if you just got the letter, your dealer should be able to get that fixed for you in plenty of time. (But I would go in and sit with them while they make the change. Don't trust then to do it "over the phone" or...
Funny - my brother also has a Ridgeline, and was trying to convince me to get one of those instead of the Maverick... I told him I do really like the Ridgeline, but it's too big to fit in my little garage, and I can't deal with the lousy fuel mileage - it gets worse mileage than my Chevy 2500...
Here is my experience:
09/15/23 - Order placed with dealer (confirmation letter received from Ford while at the dealer)
05/18/23 - Email from Ford: VIN scheduled for the wk of 06/05/23
06/02/23 - Window sticker became available
06/09/23 - Build tracker update to "Order Confirmed" (what?)...
Mine was "in production" for a couple of weeks, then went back to "Order Accepted" (and I got a "Dear John" letter from Ford). Then 24 hours later, the status updated to "Shipped" (with a "Built" date one day before the "Shipped" date). Gave me a bit of panic for a while...
PS - The "built"...
NEITHER of these modes are covered in the manual, so I suspect that IF they actually do exist, it would have to be done through ForeScan or similar tool.
Others have given some input on this... But one thing they didn't mention is that you can set up a schedule through the FordPass app to start the vehicle periodically through the night. I would guess that three 30-minute engine starts (standard duration) spread a couple of hours apart would...
Well, that definitely answers my question. I thought they were listed together. I only saw mine briefly - and quite some time ago.
So we're back to the question: Is Ford incorrectly claiming US-made content, or have they opened a new "stealth" plant...
Again, I'm just asking whether that MIGHT be the case. Your statements (which I believe to be 100% accurate) don't really address that question.
You keep discussing the ICE (the engine portion), but the sticker is reporting the country of origin for the "Engine and Transmission" as a unit...
My dealer put in ALL '22 orders as priority 10. Which renders it pretty meaningless, since there is no differentiation between any of the orders. Rollover orders should have been priority 10s, and everyone else something lower. I wasn't a rollover, and I'm glad my truck got built (shipped on...
