I wish my '22 Hybrid Lariat/Lux DID have automatic door locks when you park and walk away. The '14 Impala we have does that, and my wife has forgotten to lock the Maverick a couple of times when she drove it... Fortunately it was still there when she finished shopping...
I think the Maverick is a better car than a truck, but it makes a pretty darn good car! I can't think of many cars in that price category that I'd prefer over the Maverick!
Wow! That was a blast from the past! I test drove a Rabbit Diesel Pickup once. Wanted to time the 0-60 run, but forgot to bring my calendar for the test drive. That was one slow, smokey vehicle! The gas one wasn't too bad, though. Not exactly "quick" (even by the standards of the day), but...
Excellent post. I was kind of the same way. Now, even though we DO have two cars, I simply can't justify the purchase cost (much less the ongoing fuel, maintenance, and insurance costs) of a full-sized truck - nor do I really "need" the larger bed. The Maverick is the perfect size for all the...
I used to live in the Smoky Mountains - right on the park border. Black bears were everywhere, and tourists were absolute idiots when they spotted them. Signs are everywhere warning people that the bears are wild animals, and can be very dangerous - especially a mother with cubs. There are...
I'm waiting for Mercedes (AMG?) to come out with a pickup truck, not an SUV.
And then I won't buy THAT one, either... I had one Mercedes - an SLC. It was fun, but maintaining it cost more than the payments on a Maverick would cost. Brake job cost me well over $1000, just for brake pads and...
I wonder if it's as simple as the E-CVT and electric motors being made in the US, with just the ICE components being made (or possibly only assembled) in Mexico, so the "majority" of the "engine/transmission" is considered to be manufactured in the US?
55.3 mpg for an entire tankful of gas? Wow! That's absolutely amazing. I've had a few "trips" (local drives) where I saw 55+ mpg on the display (fairly well calibrated after adjusting it a few times using the "Engineering Test" mode), but never got CLOSE to that figure for a whole tank...
Mine was scheduled for the week of 6/9/23, went to "In Production" status on 6/5/22, then sat in that status for a while. I contacted Ford CS on 6/15, and was told it was built, and awaiting shipment. Then on 6/16, I got an email stating the following:
"We understand it has been too long since...
I especially like the comment in the instructions:
"This accessory has an aesthetic purpose and is merely decorative. Use in load and traction applications situations is not recommended."
So, if I'm reading that right, this is a "rack" that isn't intended to carry ANY load, since it's "merely...
Yep - Dodge used to build good products. Stellantis came along MUCH later, and they've been at the helm just long enough to screw up pretty much everything about Chrysler/Dodge/Ram.
While I would agree that proper maintenance is required on ANY vehicle, the Fiat and Alfa brands - in the US at least - had been a massive failure due to horrible reliability issues. Think of the lineup the sold in the 60's, 70's, and even 80's: Fiat X 1/9, Alfa Romeo 124 Spider, and um...
Since part of COVP is registering the prospective owner's email address, if there's no COVP, Ford may not be able to email the person who placed the order. In that case, it would be solely on the dealer to notify them...
I believe he got on the freeway one exit early, then reset the mpg reading at the same exit each time, with the speed already established, and recorded the result at the same specific point along the highway before slowing for the next exit. He would drive back to the starting point and do it...
OK James, I'm taking you at your word... At the top of each page, on the right hand side, just below the thread title, are three buttons: "Jump to new", "Ignore", and "Watch"... Click the "watch" button, and you'll be notified of changes.
Or a huge bonus, depending on your personal color preferences... I happen to like the CO, and am totally bored by all the black, gray, silver, and blue shades that you see everywhere by every manufacturer. I'd go with white over any of those, although my second choice would be Hot Pepper Red...
If – and that's a HUGE "if" – the Fiat truck were to become available in the US "this year" it would be significantly more expensive than the Maverick and/or Santa Cruz. Because the production facility is NOT in North America, the 25% "chicken tax" would apply to those vehicles imported from...
