  1. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Which just makes our Cyber Orange trucks even more of a "unicorn." I'm kind of sorry for the folks that wanted an orange truck and now get to choose between Hot Pepper Red or a wide range of "blah" colors... ("Blah" being defined as a color along the gray spectrum, including black, white...
  2. What did you buy with your Ford Pass points?

Well, the manual tells us to change the oil when the indicator tells us it's time. The computer in the truck takes into account the amount of time the engine is running, the load on the engine, and a bunch of other factors to come up with the oil change interval. If you look in the FordPass...

I believe that's reserved for a bit earlier in the Spring, before the temps start topping 100ºF on a regular basis... :sneaky:
  4. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Gotta love the Cyber Orange color. Man, it just comes alive in the sun, doesn't it? Sounds like you've got good kids there, CobraJ.
  5. AREA 51 Maverick Photos Thread

I just sold my Area 51 First Edition (2022 model with 5,675 miles) to CarMax to make room in the garage for the '23 Cyber Orange Lariat (details in signature) that finally arrived. If you're looking for a '22 First Edition Lariat in Area 51, CarMax N Austin (TX) should have it listed pretty...

If I hadn't gotten my '23 order delivered (Cyber Orange), I would have re-ordered for '24 in HPR. It's a great looking color. In one way I'm sad that Ford discontinued Cyber Orange for '24, but it also makes mine that much more "unique"...

Howdy, folks! I finally picked up my '23 Cyber Orange Lariat BAP this week, and sold the '22 Area 51 First Edition I purchased when I thought I wasn't going to get the '23. We live in Cedar Park, but I seem to be spending a lot of time in Round Rock these days... By the way - nice group...
  8. The Texas Mavericks!

Dang! I'll have to miss it. Finally picked up the Cyber Orange Maverick today. Man, what a gorgeous color! Anyone who says it's "school bus yellow" has to be blind! I'll post pictures in the Cyber Orange thread tomorrow... (Long day today for a recent heart attack survivor.)
  9. 2024 Maverick Price List (MSRP/Invoice Pricing) - All Models / Options

If these Maverick price increases are making you crazy, please don't ask whoever does the grocery shopping in your family about food price increases over the last year... Eye-opening, to say the least.
  10. The Texas Mavericks!

Do you know when it starts / ends? I am tied up in the AM, but might be able to come sometime in the afternoon.
  11. The Texas Mavericks!

Yep - you are the guy I was remembering, but hadn't looked up your "name" yet, since I don't have my CO "in hand"... We'll definitely have to get together and compare notes! Yeah - I'm kinda glad I'm OK as well. My wife jumps a foot in the air every time I cough or even just sigh... "Are...
  12. The Texas Mavericks!

Nope. I'm pretty sure there's a Cyber Orange XLT that "lives" in Round Rock. No BAP, if I recall correctly. We'll probably have to get together at some point to compare notes. My Cyber Orange Hybrid arrived at the dealership last Tuesday, but I decided to have a coronary event on Monday...
  13. In what ways has your Maverick EXCEEDED expectations?

I like the styling more every time I see it. And I really like the interior of my Lariat (Area 51 Hybrid FE - haven't taken delivery of the Cyber Orange BAP yet). I did not think I would like the ActiveX "vinyl" seats - would have preferred the XLT's "denim" cloth), but to my surprise I find I...
  14. 600 Miles Per Tank Hybrid Maverick club

Yeah, I would say that counts. But in reality, you would probably have hit closer to 650 before you actually ran out of gas. There is a built-in (but not specified by Ford) "reserve" of fuel remaining when the gauge gets to "E", and the display shows "0 miles to empty." Personally, I'm not...
  15. Question on fire risk recall

I did the math in another thread, but given the number of Mavericks produced, 3 instances is a tiny fraction of a percent of all the Maverick Hybrids ever shipped... Those odds are about the same as your odds of being t-boned by a left-handed neurologist. (Meaning extraordinarily low.) That...
  16. Question on fire risk recall

In short, it has been reported that an improperly polished crankshaft bearing journal can cause premature wear, which can in turn cause either the crank itself or the piston rod linked to it to fail catastrophically (break), causing large chunks of metal to penetrate the engine case at high...
  17. Adjusting AFE Bias - 5000 miles of Data from my Hybrid Maverick

Yeah, I'm trying to recover from "lead foot syndrome..."
  18. Adjusting AFE Bias - 5000 miles of Data from my Hybrid Maverick

Different tires/wheels will definitely impact MPG. But since Ford sets up the software for each model as the truck is built, this may (or may not) be accounted for in the original vehicle's AFE calibration. I suspect the variance is more due to very slight variances in the fuel flow...
  19. Adjusting AFE Bias - 5000 miles of Data from my Hybrid Maverick

Good point. I drove mine for 4000 miles before adjusting it the first time, and another 1500 miles before tweaking it. But I'm using the "computed versus measured" lifetime mpg to make my adjustments for that very reason.
  20. Adjusting AFE Bias - 5000 miles of Data from my Hybrid Maverick

I would politely disagree with it being "irrelevant"... (Though I definitely calculate the mileage at the pump each time as well as keeping up the "lifetime" mileage information.) I use the computed mileage ("This Trip" reading on the Lariat) after every single drive, to see how I'm doing...
