  1. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Unless, of course, your daughter (whose car it is) turned off the "beep" for locking and unlocking because she has babies... I suppose I could have watched the tail lights flash, but it was bright daylight and I simply didn't see them. Regardless, the line at the local elementary school...
  2. i accidentally made this thread [NO POLITICS, NO OFFENSIVE POSTS, NO NSFW]

No clue - never even heard of that happening...
  3. Adjusting from an F-150....

You nailed it. Before we moved here, I lived on a small ranch out in the middle of nowhere. It was 45 minutes each way to our local Walmart or Costco. That's when we owned the C-2500HD, often pulled a heavy trailer with our 6500 lb tractor on it, etc. But when we retired and moved into the...
  4. Just had my "free battery test"

But there is a 12V battery recall, which the OP also has in his Hybrid. That's the "free battery test" he was referencing.
  5. Adjusting from an F-150....

Well, I started out to post my experience transitioning from a C-2500 HD to the Maverick, then to an F-150, and back to the Maverick. But I got sidetracked about Hybrid vs EcoBoost... So now back to the OP's question. The 2500 HD diesel was a behemoth that was hard to park in "normal" parking...
  6. Adjusting from an F-150....

Before I ordered my 23 Hybrid, I test drove a 22 EcoBoost and a 22 Hybrid. The EB was an abolute hoot to drive, a peppy as all get out. Honestly, it felt like it had more "guts" than the Mercedes SLK I used to own... I really enjoyed driving it, but I also realized that I didn't "need" the...
  7. Jump pack recommendation

I chose the Gooloo GT4000S jump pack ($100 @ Amazon). It's a bit more expensive that some others, but with up to 4000 Amps of cranking power, it's a LOT more powerful that many others. They also make a GP3000 ($60 that is functionally very similar, with 3000 Amps. The GT4000S will start...
  8. Maverick fixes and updates?

How does that change what I wrote? The discussion was whether or not the vehicle would have all the software updates or not. That has NOTHING to do with whether or not it has on-board Wi-Fi.
  9. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

I'm glad yours has been trouble free. I've owned two Mav Hybrids now. The first (a lucky find at a local dealer) was trouble free for 8K miles. I sold it to pay for the one I had ordered with all of my preferred options and paint color. I've been driving the orange one for just over a year now...
  10. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Yes, I have. I might sell it and get an EcoBoost. Or just move on from the Maverick. But to what? Maybe (ugh) the Santa Fe... I just really miss the days when I would open the garage door just to peek at my Maverick and bring a smile to my face. Now I get ulcers just thinking about it...
  11. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

I don't believe that works. I've had too many times when I was sitting waiting for my wife with the AC on (Texas summer = 95-105ºF) and the ICE was off until the HVB got to a pretty low state. And in any case, my AC was on MAX that day, because it was 108ºF in the shade. The cop who pulled up...
  12. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Yes, you are 100% correct. A "jump" would have started the engine, until it shut off again at the next stop. That's how the dealership got it off the tow truck. But as soon as it came to a stop after rolling down the ramp, it went to Park and the e-brake turned on (with all the faults...
  13. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

What the hell are you talking about? I only posted it in this single thread that I created...
  14. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Man, I definitely feel your pain. And I'm right there with you on loving the truck, but not loving the fear of taking it anywhere non-local...
  15. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Once again, the Maverick Hybrid does NOT use the 12V battery to turn a "starter" like a conventional ICE vehicle would have. The hybrids have a motor/generator that is powered by the HVB. It supplies enough amperage to drive the car at up to 59 mph, so starting the engine should be WAY less...
  16. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Unfortunately, there is no alternator on the Hybrid Mavericks. There is one motor / generator the is both powered by, and that recharges the HVB. The HVB, in turn, powers a "voltage converter" that delivers 12V to recharge the small 12V battery. And that's what really bugs me... If the HVB...
  17. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Yep, that was a problem with the early models, until Ford changed the way that connector was made. It's not what's wrong with my truck, however... (Checked this the first time I had the "deep sleep" mode.)
  18. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

The Maverick has no starter, and no alternator. It uses the motor/generator for both functions, which is driven by the HVB, not the 12V battery.. The HVB supplies the voltage that spins the motor generator to start the gasoline engine. The hybrid battery (HVB) also supplies power to a...
  19. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Yeah - sorry about that... Hard to write it, and even harder to edit it down. So much spent energy! LOL
  20. The last straw? (Vehicle down for 3+ weeks, with no end in sight.)

Thanks for the link. It says pretty much what I remember it saying... You basically have to have the same issue 3 times (with no successful repair). The first issue was allegedly repaired (we'll see), and the second one only happened (officially) once. Is it bad to "hope" I actually have the...
