If you really want a Maverick, and can deal with the "negotiated" ADM, I'd say get the one that is on hand. There is no guarantee the other one will be built until it shows "in production" - and even then "stuff happens..."
The Cyber Orange Hybrid Lariat that I ordered was just built, and is...
It's even worse than that... He's driving an EcoBoost, so buying a LOT more gas than he would in your hybrid scenario...
Even if you assume an "average" of 32 mpg (pretty generous, I think) with 87 and 36 mpg with premium, we're talking 16 gallons of regular to drive that 515 miles, versus...
I drove a Prius C for years before owning the Maverick. I, too, found the brakes to be no issue whatsoever. I've never experienced the issues some have reported, and mine was built in June/July 2022.
For @Ponchsox - I also get considerably worse mileage than he's reporting for highway...
You should contact the Guinness Book folks - for the most MPG increase by using 2 octane point higher fuel... The engineering folks say "maybe 2 to 3% increase in mpg" for using 91 (vs 87), and here you are - getting more like 13%+ by going half-way between those octane ratings! Pretty...
I understood that Feds require manufacturers to report the engine's rated HP using the "required" fuel. Does anyone know for sure?
Found this article that sheds "some" light, but doesn't answer the specific question: Motor Trend article
But then it would probably look like the Gladiator... I think the supply-chain issues have impacted the availability of "10-foot poles" to the extent that the government might not allow that... 🤣
We had a Grand Caravan, and the air conditioner failed on EVERY SINGLE TRIP we ever took with it. Houston to El Paso, with wife and 3 kids, and no A/C... Six separate trips. In Texas. In June/July/August. I loved the space, and it was even sort-of decent to drive, but I spent a fortune...
Yep - I got to ride in a CX-9 (I think?) with a sunroof, and no issues. I don't know why the sunroof affects the sedans so much... It's just weird. The "moonroof" (what's the difference between a sunroof and a moonroof?) in the Maverick also doesn't seem to impact the headroom much...
Good...
That is exactly what I experienced when using ACC while in "normal" drive mode. Changing to "Slippery" results in earlier, less aggressive slowing, but still activates the brake lights when re-gen kicks in.
The one situation where ACC makes me uncomfortable is when I'm driving at 60-65 mph...
No one had to modify their order. They did so voluntarily, because they believed it would improve the odds of their truck being selected for production due to highly constrained items on their order. There were also thousands of orders that got built with constrained items, and delivered, even...
I saw one guy who had "stacked" a couple of those 2x6s (might have used dowels to lock them together?), and used something like Command Hooks across the top one to hold the bags in place.
If you do make it to the Knoxville area, be sure to check check out Townsend, TN - on the "quiet" side of the Smokies. (Quiet being a relative term during tourist season.) We lived there off and on for years. It used to be pretty small and mostly folks from E TN would go there. But...
When I first started driving, my "dream car" was a Corvette Stingray with the famous 327 engine, which would do 0-60 in about 9.4 seconds. That was impressive for a showroom stock vehicle in those days...
But a Stingray would have cost WAY too much for me to even dream of ever owning one...
I bought a 3rd party extended warranty on a VW Diesel a few years ago. Seven months into ownership, I had a covered repair - only to discover that the company had filed for bankruptcy and I was SOL. Never again...
Mine shows a lengthy list of modules, but the window sticker still looks incomplete. Interestingly enough, the transportation type switched from convoy to rail on mine. (Heading to Austin, TX)
