This is why I had the dealer install a keypad before I took delivery. Once you have it you never want to be without it. Locking yourself out is a thing of the past with Fords. Don't know why all other manufactuers don't have this.
My guess it is to lower friction and therefore increase MPG and at the same time save costs. However, it could just be the machines used to fill the components are miscalibrated.
I mean at the factory they know exactly how much they have added to the dry unit, in the field there could easily...
The cost of gear oil is ~$17 a qt for top-shelf, so less than $10 worth of oil each change for a ~$800 unit. Thanks but no thanks.
Oh and chances are I have more experience and education than that person who works for ford and is looking out for the company's best interest, not yours. My...
Build month was 10/25, trans was a quart low (that is 20% of the capacity) as well as all gear boxes.
Did an oil, RDU, PTU change and topped off the trans. Happy coincidence, this 2.5L uses the same oil filter as my '08 Jeep JK, so had some on hand.

Add mine to the units that were not filled up at the factory. Made October '25. Not saying the lower levels would hurt anything but anytime you...
update:
I installed the springs and camber adjustment hardware. I didn't take time to measure how far out the lowering spings made camber in the front due to just being tired, I did make the SPC arms the same length as the factory arms and the rear was at ~2 degree neg before I adjusted the...
I'm required to at work, so it becomes habit. The whole backing in thing started years back but in my mind back-up cameras, and 360 cameras, make the practice obsolete. However, it is engrained into a mindset and company policy so, here we are.
I buy non-ethanol fuel for less engine wear, in my area this is only available in 91 octane. I will fill up with ethanol of a lower octane if that is all that is available but use the non-ethanol most of the time.
If one chooses to turn off all the fancy electronic aids I have zero issues; a driver should use a vehicle how they are most comfortable. Off-road high speed is one of my most favorite activties. Also, I enjoy sport bikes, of which a modern sport bike has enough nannies to keep a newbie from...
If doing yourself: With the maverick all the gear boxes are filled to the fill hole level (not all modern ones are). Also, the magnetic plugs will be filled with black metallic debris, don't worry to much about this as it is perfectly normal. In the future I'd suggest you change out the PTU...
Three words. Tires. Tires. Tires.
The continentals you have suck in the snow. Mine have 600 miles on them and still suck. Due to El Nino this year the east side of the rockies have been warm and dry so far this year; just got some winter weather earlier this week, tried them out, was not...
Perfectly normal. Nothing is perfect in life. There are manufacturing variations and actual weight differences of the truck load, uneven ground, and spring rebound differences. Any mechanic is going to tell you this is normal with steel springs.
If you want perfection for your truck, use...
The TPMS polls each sensor individually and slowly, it takes minutes to get an updated reading on all four locations. The update time is to slow too use while adjusting tire pressure. Also, the air pressure will vary with temperature. Just because you put in 35psi does not mean it stays...
If you are trying to buy another FOB that will work, the pertinent number to match is the FCC ID.
I'm in the process of replacing the setup I was given at the dealer with a 4 button.
You can source a FOB from ford or an OEM supplier or a chinese reproduction, all at differnet price points...
