Unfortunately if this a long awaited ordered Maverick at MSRP or less, some scandalous dealers would love to see the deal cancelled, repair and then sell 5-10k over.
Some dealers would love to sell a cancelled Maverick 10k above, so why demand a deposit? Your not ordering a puke green Yugo station wagon that may be hard to unload.
Actually the difference comes from the lock to lock steering ratio. The Maverick takes 2.8 turns while the Ranger takes 3.5. The quicker 2.8 (Mav) is just going to rebound faster. Nothing to do with handling.
To me, the biggest difference besides mpg, is that the Hybrid 2.5 is multiport injection while the 2.0 eco is direct injection. The direct injection will have valve carbon problems around 40k and I understand it is not a warranted item. The solution is a head replacement.
At least you got a build date. I ordered my basic Hybrid XL 10-07-21 and have not received a build date of any kind. Go figure. My order code is in the system and that's all.
I have heard, but don't take it as the gospel, that dealer repairs to untitled vehicles do not get reported. If so, and repairs are unnoticeable, no harm done. Otherwise go for diminished value from the smartphone-distracted kid's insurance.
To be exact, orders for 2023 Maverick open up Aug 15 2022. Highly recommend that you have your dealer ready to submit your order at the bell. Just express the trim, any color and drivetrain to get it in the order bank and you can modify options later (except trim and drivetrain). Trying to...
I know older thread, but I was able to purchase a 2022 Ranger XLT as it rolled off the truck without ordering or reserving. (At MSRP,no fees). So the Ranger is starting to become accessible here in Florida. For now anyway. Not sure about California.
I sold my Maverick (had too, made 8k) and immediately snatched a 2022 XLT Ranger at MSRP as it rolled in off the truck. (No markup or dealer fees). So I had both for awhile.
First time in the Ranger I turned right and almost wrecked it. The steering doesn't re-center like the Maverick and...
I would love to see the final auction price as Texas Auto Sales is an auction wholesaler. As explained to me, they will lose on some but as a lot of several vehicles, come out ahead.
Also the Maverick is not touted as being the ultimate of the trucking world. But instead as one of the best values, dollar for dollar. Which it does very well.
Until supply meets demand, the Maverick will continue to be a premium sought after vehicle. Eventually the mystique will wear off slowing down the craziness.
I just sold the exact combination (except silver) to Texas Auto Sales (wholesaler) for $34,500. Craigslist ad lasted 30 seconds before the above jumped on it.
Have another (October order) still coming, hopefully soon. This one to keep.
Also on a list to order a 2023 Maverick Aug 15th.
I just bought a new 2022 Ranger XLT Sport from Mullinax Ford New Symnra FL at MSRP -$1250 private offer. Came in as I was in the process of reserving this in-transit unit so Mullinax sold as an ordered (at MSRP) instead of inventoried which normally carries a $2000 markup. No add ONS or fees...
Unfortunately, according to Tim Bartz's Tuesday PM livestream, some have croaked awaiting delivery. Not exactly in those words though. Tim is much more professional in his word selection.
