That looks pretty minor. My '22 shed lots of grease all over the place from new. Gobs on the frame. Just kept waiting for it to fail, but it didn't. Had it changed out as it is getting close to the end of the powertrain warranty.
Cheers.
Wow, dummy me never made the connection about that aspect of the design when looking at the fuse box. How can Ford expect you to troubleshoot circuits like that?
Cheers.
It should be turned off, but SSM 53801 suggests the air conditioner control module software is an issue. Could be waking something up under certain circumstances and killing the battery while key is off. Had a Five Hundred with a wonky head unit that would wake up the HVAC about 30 mins. after...
Had the dash light up last week with ABS and related warnings at 90k km's. Code C0512 (right rear speed sensor open), and related codes C003A, U0415, and U0418.
Found an open on one of the speed sensor lines on the wheel harness, NZ6Z2C011B. There was no obvious external damage to the...
What was the code the tech. found? I had a C0512 (right rear speed sensor open), and associated ABS, PSCM, and IPMA module codes. Same symptoms you described. Bad wheel speed sensor harness, had a corrupt wire or connection on the sensor signal side. Changed the harness about an hour ago...
Just for sh*ts and giggles I asked the parts guy about some replacement body plugs after re and re ing a rear fender liner, since it has to come out again. No longer available, apparently Ford is phasing out these types of parts. Need to buy the whole fender liner to get them. NAPA to the...
I'm trying to keep abreast of any wiring/electrical issues. Fear it might be the Mav's Achilles heel. Didn't have the neg. battery cable issue with mine, but had the cable replaced under the customer satisfaction initiative. Will post the resolution to my current wheel speed sensor issue when...
Ride height of the Maverick is great with a bad hip. Had my hip replaced a year ago, highly recommend it if an option. Now I'm looking at a Civic so my daughter can have my Mav. :)
Enjoy!
Cheers.
Nice results, thanks for sharing it. Engines are happiest being run and working, as your info. would indicate.
With our climate (harsher than Cali.) and my usage I would fall under severe duty. I believe a lot of drivers would, but feel they are being kind to their engines by taking short...
I absolutely do think about the environment, a lot. Second hybrid, letters to the PM demanding climate action etc. I agree that excessive oil changes are an issue. That's a large reason we are at these extended change intervals. Modern manufacturing and chemistry are absolutely astounding...
I said the techs. at the shop I deal with change their oil (personal vehicles) at 40% on the OLM. Ford dealer, certified techs., one long past the point of doing oil changes. I know I don't know everything, far from it. But if there's something I would like to know more about I ask someone...
Well, since you brought it up, 40 years as an industrial mechanic in auto and electronics production. Predictive and preventative maintenance specialization, three other trade licenses. Guess compared to you I'm a noob.
I believe, though, it's still worth listening to people in the field...
They didn't recommend it. I was talking to the tech. off hand. He knows I do my own maintenance and I was getting his personal opinion. He doesn't do oil changes, so has no skin in the game.
You do you, but might be worth listening to people in the field.
Cheers,.
"the tech's at my dealer do theirs at 40% on the OLM"
Please explain how would they be making money doing oil changes on their own vehicles. I want in on that.
Cheers.
