  1. Replacing the Hybrid's OEM 12v. Battery

Sorry it wasn't a smooth job! Would not want to have anyone dissuaded from swapping out the battery themselves though. Takes less time than driving to our dealer. The nuts on the battery post attachments don't have to be removed, just loosened a little. (I pull the neg. whenever we park at...
  2. Hybrid AWD Hauling a Motorcycle

    Tidy set up! (y) Cheers.
  3. Ford 1.5T 3-cylinder driveline is horrible vs the hybrid 2.5 + eCVT

Sprint Turbo is still the most fun car I've ever owned. (y) Cheers
  4. New Tires Lose Pressure at Speeds Greater than 60 mph

Weird situation. I've been using the same tires on the same rims as yours for about 30k km's and had no issues. They work really well, but get some others if they can't identify the cause. Cheers.
  5. Ford 1.5T 3-cylinder driveline is horrible vs the hybrid 2.5 + eCVT

... anyhow I can't imagine anyone test-driving this rig and thinking "wow, I'm going to buy this with my money!". I think that every time I drive some clumsy SUV (thankfully doesn't happen often). :) Cheers.
  6. Fuel efficiency winter driving

5.2 L/100km average over 3.5 years in the GTA. It'll be good overall, drive and enjoy. Cheers.
  7. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

This (what would you call it, WAY over throttle issue?), has happened to me four or five times in three plus years on our '22 hybrid. Happens after driving a hundred or so yards after parking for about 20 mins., and is quite disconcerting. It is NOT normal operation, for this or any other...
  8. Same height, but better / firmer suspension?

Oh yeah, some sweet riding a little way north! Just found Kushog Lk. Rd. (11) near Carnarvon. Freshly paved, most fun road I can remember being on. :D Our Mazda 3 steers better than the Mav, but I'm not sure I like it more overall. Cheers.
  9. Are Canadians going to stop vacationing in Florida?

Not 100% political. There are, in my experience, great people everywhere regardless of which side of whatever fence they are on. We have relatives all over the US. Sadly, the cost of traveling to the states is becoming prohibitive with the exchange rate, so we will put the funds toward a...
  10. Same height, but better / firmer suspension?

I tried the Eibach springs to gain some handling improvement, but immediately went back to the stockers. Did it steer a little better? Yes. Was it worth the loss in ride comfort on GTA streets? No. Unless you often hit more fun roads than Toronto has the stock combo is likely a good...
  11. Hybrid battery drain issue / ACCM update (as of 11/8/25) -- Latest info from a tech's perspective

Well, these are likely pretty complex problems to tackle, regardless of the money and engineering degrees. There are at minimum two issues at play that produce similar concerns. There could be more. One is the low charging state some owners experience, which may or may not be something that...
  12. Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive tires installed.

Look forward to hearing your review of the all weathers. We have the Pirelli Scorpion all seasons for the summer, they are awesome. Full snows are going on today, but would like to switch them to all weathers in the future, as we have a lot more dry pavement driving, even in the winter. Cheers.
  13. Would You Buy Non-Hybrid FWD 2.5L Maverick

With a manual trans. and reasonably priced, absolutely. With an 8 speed auto box and stop start, nope. Cheers.
  14. 2025 hybrid awd came out to oil on garage floor

My trans. fluid was like new at 30k miles. I would go at least 50k myself. Cheers.
  15. 2025 hybrid awd came out to oil on garage floor

It's not Mercon, that's reddish and the smell is horrible. Looks like motor oil. Cheers.
  16. Deep Sleep and Battery problems are all yours to deal with, once you reach the 3 year Standard Warranty!

Changed the battery on our 2012 Prius after 8 years to be proactive, but it was still working fine. Of the three people I know with late model Toyota hybrids (three different models) all have experienced low/dead batteries. I believe it is due to manufacturers doing everything possible, on...
  17. its 25,000 miles maintenance time '23 hybrid (update from previous thread)

I changed the transmission fluid on my hybrid at 30k miles/50k kms just to see what it was like. Looked like new at that distance, the design is easy on fluid. If you don't want to change your engine oil at 40% you probably don't want to change your tranny fluid until 100k miles at least...
  18. Added Cruise Control (to XL Hybrid w/ Co-Pilot360) using OEM factory steering wheel switches

There were some very sharp cookies that posted the settings here back in 2022. No idea how they are determined, way above my pay grade :). Cheers.
  19. Added Cruise Control (to XL Hybrid w/ Co-Pilot360) using OEM factory steering wheel switches

Depends on the service and the tech in my experience. Module updates? Crap shoot. Have had modules updated without having to revisit these settings, but most recent updates required it. Cheers.
