I've had two different experiences at the dealership when having software updates done. Both times I asked the service adviser to have the tech. retain the current settings for the modules. First time the settings were unchanged and I didn't need to revisit it. Second time the settings were...
Find an honest dealer or independent shop, the dealer that quoted you on so many unnecessary/impossible tasks are gouging liars. Not sure? Ask them to show you where your front and rear differential and transfer case are. Then listen to the excuses, back pedaling, and further lies.
Sorry...
I'm not an IT professional, but pretty sure you aren't actually changing any actual code with Forscan, simply changing the settings pertaining to which existing code the vehicle will utilize.
It's handy, was able to add cruise to my '22 XL.
Cheers.
Yeah, it's a sad situation. The gleaming glass palaces they call dealerships around here must cost a fortune. Used to get parts at a small local hole in the wall dealership to "help them out". They finished construction on their new site a couple of years ago:
Surprisingly they had a sign...
Manufacturers (some anyway) demand specs. be met by extensive lab testing on physical parts prior to letting supply contracts, even on simple things like door checkers and hinges. How that translates into the consistency of quality of the production component is another story. Like the drive...
Looks like they replaced the solenoid, $130 CAD. Probably an easy fix.
Cheers.

What a sad commentary on the state of things, not just the auto industry of course. No surprise that dealerships around here have a "tech wanted" sign outside.
GM used to jerk our chains in the trades, seemingly for no reason. Get laid off, find new job, get called back after a month and...
Assume you had to pay the dealer for a "diagnostic" and they wouldn't give you the fault codes. Frustrating, for sure.
I've only done two fluid changes on these types of transmissions, early one on the Maverick, and overdue one on a Toyota. Neither one had flakes of any kind.
Good luck on...
I don't but there is lots of info. on the web. The sensors are easy (fairly obvious when looked at from the back of the wheel) to access and the electrical connectors can be removed with the sensors in place IIRC. It may be easier to remove the sensors, though, using an 8mm wrench. Use very...
Check the right rear speed sensor wiring harness. Mine had a wire with compromised insulation by the junction to the main harness, and would throw the code, occasionally clearing. Check the voltage coming to the sensor, or swap rear abs sensors side to side to see if the code changes before...
Ours has done this 4 or 5 times during the first stop after a cold start in almost 4 years. My assumption is software not dealing well with edge case inputs, since it happens so infrequently. Interested to see what the resolution is.
Cheers.
They spiked to 3500-4000 rpm while stopped, causing the vehicle to try to pull forward as the inertia of the generator accelerating fed through to the trans. output? Our Toyota would absolutely generate using higher than normal engine speed, as does our Maverick, but that is completely...
Cool that you captured this situation with data, and appreciate you posting it! Definitely not normal operation, and it is unsettling when it happens. Toyota hybrid never did this.
Cheers.
