You should be good in Fairmount. My girlfriend used to live in that neighborhood and its pretty gentrified at this point. I wouldn't leave the doors unlocked but you should be ok
I got the manual from Factory Manuals. It has wiring diagrams. I haven't looked up anything to do with the steering wiring but if you need a page let me know.
I live in Philadelphia. NE to be exact. I have driven it in Center City and its plenty maneuverable and no troubles parking at all anywhere. Its the same length as a Honda Accord so if that fits this will. No one has touched my truck or thrown trash it it. I have a tonneau cover on it now...
I don’t doubt that they will do this. My concern is finding a path to makes this upgrade on my XLT. Right now I don’t see anyone who was successful in upgrading sync 2.5 to Sync 3.
I was doing more research on this head unit and Ford has simply just rebranded Sync 2.5 to Connected Touch. Sync 2.5 is prevalent in Europe apparently with the videos I have seen. Mostly in Fiestas and the European equivalent. There is very little information on these radios and a path to any...
If this could keep the factory steering wheel cotrols and dash controls work as well I’m in for something like this since the stock stereo is complete garbage
Someone on here already did the upgrade. You can either buy from a company like that or just find an APIM on ebay for a fraction of the cost. Alot of sellers will program it for you and you just plug and play.

Yeah there is no APIM in the XL/XLT. I can easily source an APIM, ACM and wiring harness. Just wiring it up is the tricky part because of the lack of diagrams. The only issue was going from the existing wiring to the new harness and what needs to connect where...
This is awesome detective work. I was looking for a diagram of this ACM and wasnt sure what was right. Im trying to see if its possible to take one of those sync upgrade wiring harnesses and splice in the existing connections to upgrade to a full sync 3 on an XL/XLT
the 54 pin connector goes into the APIM. the wiring harness in the XLT looks way different than the lariat. There’s only one radio connector in XLT. Two in lariat. So I thought maybe you can get a wiring harness from a bronco sport or escape on eBay and use the wires needed but not sure if...
You actually don’t have to take the dash apart too much to get to the radio. You pop the hvac controls off which you can do by hand and it’s all back there. The biggest issue is the missing 54 pin connector. Without that it makes the upgrade way more difficult. A wiring harness to solve the...
Just looking at this video I think we are just a new ACM, APIM and wiring harness away from this working. The ACM and APIM are cheap on eBay but the wiring harness obviously doesnt exist or Im not sure which one is needed
