I have 100% functionality with sync 4 running in my Mav. I was the one working with zacmd to get it working. Only hick up Ive had in over a year was my modem that send telem data to ford froze and the only way to get it to work again was to hook the stock radio back up and re-enable it. took...
The problem with just swapping the ACM is that the Maverick uses an ACM which does everything. If you just put an HD ACM in you wont have anything to drive the screen. If you want HD radio which Im thinking of upgrading my ACM to you will need to do the APIM addition as well
Zack may have to correct me if im wrong since its been a little while since I did this but after you program everything you will need to do a master reset. That got wireless projection to stay on for me. Also to change the name that is done inside Sync. It is in the bluetooth configs in the...
This thread covers what you need if you want sync3/4 in an XLT.

Also dont forget the IPC coding needed as well. You want to edit this value to 1. This will get the SIriusXM to show in the instrument cluster.

To be honest the hardest part is the wiring harness which with @zackmd1 write up shouldnt be too bad if you take your time and have the right tools. Outside of that the rest is a piece of cake. Taking the dash off is really easy. The old system slide right out and the new parts arent...
@zackmd1 is the real hero in all of this. I made a ton of mistakes during this process and there is no way I wouldve been able to figure out the wiring diagrams on my own. The only thing that made sense to me was Forscan.
Faster operation is an understatement. Carplay is instantaneous. The boot time is near zero. That was one of the most frustrating parts of the OEM system. It would turn on but then it would be unresponsive for minutes at a time.
Thats a good question. Trying to source parts for this I found different ford part numbers for basically the same parts. For example the ACM from an Escape I used is virtually identical to the F150. So I can only assume they use different part numbers for hardware that is running different...
You would be better off just getting one of the wireless carplay adapters other users on here have purchased. This is a lot more expensive than something like that. With the adapter you wont have to pull the dash apart or need a wiring harness...
For the Sirius Now Playing in the instrument cluster. The IPC needs to be updated.
I havent tested this yet but will once the storms pass
