Recently manufactures started going to a more modular design to help with vehicles that didn't have the dash room for installing conventional size stereos. This new design might be a possible solution for Maverick owners in the future that don't like the factory stereo and want some more features out of the box. This one happens to be pioneer but I believe I saw Alpine had one also somewhere with a larger screen.

Another option I am looking at is all the digital sound processor amplifiers. I am looking at the Nakamichi. It is controlled by a Bluetooth app and allows the shaping of the signal to each individual speaker at $265. The slimline Nakamichi speakers are also a deal. There is not much room for truly high end speakers in the door.

If this could keep the factory steering wheel cotrols and dash controls work as well I’m in for something like this since the stock stereo is complete garbage

I imagine soon there will be a pac module soon for the Maverick that will talk to the steering wheel controls.

I would love to see somebody make speaker pods for the back doors that would hold 5 1/4 or 6.5" speakers and fit into where the bottle holders are

This is a great step forward. Hopefully, Metra and others will make some integration kits to mount these attractively into the vehicle.

Hopefully somebody will be brave enough to look into where the screen mounts and from there it really shouldn't be difficult to come up with something on our own. Everybody knows somebody that can 3D print these days so custom mounts won't ever be a problem for us.

Oof, thats a steep price tag. I'll just keep my ipad mini, such a huge upgrade to the functionality and usability. Only downside right now is the loss of the backup camera. I may address that in the future but it's not a priority for me right now. I should be getting my speakers from Crutchfield tomorrow, I don't know when I'll get a chance to put them in, might have to do 1 at a time here and there.

Amazon has it for $650. I'm hoping more manufacturers jump on that bandwagon but one thing that I would be looking forward to the most is the upgradability like adding amps and a front camera
