One thing I forgot to mention I can’t get the rear view camera to work either. What setting did you update in the apim to enable that? Camera and Sirius working makes this 100%. Everything else is working as expected.
Ok got Sirius icon to show but when I tune to it nothing plays. I’m wondering if my acm isn’t going to work. I’m going to keep trying but it may be an acm issue
Getting closer. Sync 4 mostly working. I can save presets but only one. I am having issues seeing the apim in forscan so I didnt enable Sirius XM but I assume that is going to work once connectivity to the APIM is sorted. Apparently I bought Nav APIM and didnt realize it but I dont plan on...
I just looked at F150 ACMs and they don’t appear much different than the escape or bronco ones which makes it odd that they wouldn’t be compatible...
The hardest part is the wiring harness. @zackmd1 understands this really well and I’m a big dummy when it comes to it. After that it’s just buying parts and entering the forscan entries which isn’t difficult.
It’s probably a 6 out if 10 just because of the wiring
That’s crazy the cynlabs build was worse. It’s also weird that nothing seems to work regardless of changes.
I’m hoping I have better luck and can get the build data sorted
Unfortunately it looks like you can’t add SiriusXM without adding sync 3 or 4. I have a sync 3 and sync 4 apim. I’m going to try and get both working alongside @zackmd1 once I get the wiring sorted out
There isnt a huge difference between the base system and sync 3/4. Sync 4 gives you wireless carplay.
The two reasons I want to upgrade are 1. the base system is horrendously slow and buggy. 2 I want SiriusXM through the ACM rather than my phone.
If you are comfortable with how the current...
I dont have experience with AA which may work better than Carplay. My old car before this had Carplay and it was almost instantaneous to launch when I plugged my phone in.
You can only skip tracks and volume up and down. You cant change channels in the Sirius app. Also the Carplay screen for sirius doesnt update in real time what is on each channel. You have to leave your favorites and come back in to see updates.
This too for me. The other day i was using Carplay. I unplugged my phone but kept the truck running. About 2 minutes later I plugged my phone back in and timed how long it took for carplay to launch again. I shit you not it took a minute and 10 seconds to launch again. I didnt turn anything...
The issues i have are if im using sirius i have to take my eyes off the road to change channels. If i dont have a cell connection it doesnt work. I cant use the steering controls to do anything but volume. These may seem like minor details to me but for the cost of all of this its a...
If you are ok with just using a dongle and your phone then this might not be worth the effort for you. I’m doing this because I want SiriusXM integrated and be able to use my steering controls with it
