so I emailed infotainment in October asking them if they had any plans on Maverick upgrades. At the time there was nothing on the site. When they replied they said “ good news we just launched our Maverick upgrade” with a link to that page so it’s 100% photoshopped.
i found a sync 3 module for $300 and got a SiriusXM enabled radio as well. I ordered It all mistakenly before opening the dash. I was going to do a swap like these companies provide but after today I don’t know if that is possible
I’m new to Forscan and don’t have my ODB connector yet. It will be here tomorrow. But just looking at it physically the hardware looks way different than the diagrams I see about the lariat
This diagram is from a Lariat showing where the APIM is. I circled it and you can see the large 50 pin connector running to it. That plug was nowhere to be found behind the dash.
you can but the biggest issue is there is no 50pin connector in the dash that would connect to the APIM. I’m going to open it up again tomorrow and look around some more. The wiringlooks very different from what I’ve seen in a Bronco and Escape along with the lariat Mav.
Its basically the brain for the Sync system Ford uses. Its usually seperate from the radio module. I was taking a peek to see if the XLT could be upgraded to sync 3 but without an APIM I dont know if it will be possible. Im hoping I just didnt see if but I looked everywhere for it and didnt...
I may have just found a problem with the XLT and XL models if you are looking to upgrade the APIM. There isnt one in the dash. This would explain why only the Lariat has Sync 3. I took the radio module out and there is no APIM anywhere in the dash. I looked in the cavity it would normally be...
I saw that in the instructions about the foam on my sentry rails. The foam on the back was basically the same thickness as the thin foam that came with the TS rails. My rails were basically 1/4” off when installed. I guess the foam is that much thicker to make enough of a difference?
I have the sentry cover and TS rails as well but haven’t been able to fit the cover and rails on together. When I installed the cover without the rails it fits fine. When I put the rails on the bed it’s basically just narrow enough that the cover doesn’t fit correctly. Any tips or tricks on how...
Oh wow I didnt realize they made it that easy. The Bronco sport and escape you have to take half the dash off. This changes a lot for me since getting to everything was the biggest hinderance for me.
Ive been working on a way to add sirius to the truck without having to use my phone. I dont want to have to take my eyes off the road to change channels with Sirius and its impossible if you use your phone.
Im not 100% sure if the APIM needs to be replaced just yet but speaking with the guys...
Mine goes off on the same spot every time if there is a car coming in the opposite direction. Its a hill with a slide bend in it. That's the only time it ever goes off. I disabled the braking as well. Not really sure what to do besides that.
I was talking to the guys at infotainment.com and they said they have a ACM that can replace the current one and enable Sirius. It’s $499 though. They have f150 kits I’ve seen people on YouTube install and it works but I don’t know if they figured out the Maverick yet. I also haven’t decided if...
My wife is 5’7” and can still sit very comfortably in the front seat. I’m 6’2” and I can fit just not as comfortable but it would work in a pinch
