I originally had a 22 XLT hybrid Maverick. Ordered it in 21 and got it the summer of 22. It was great but could only tow 2,000lbs. We had been tent camping over the past few years and it was getting old. Come 2024 Ford announces the hybrid AWD Maverick with 4k tow. I put a order in for an XLT and got it January of 25. Traded my 22 in. I actually got more for my 22 than what I originally bought it for! Started looking at Travel Trailers under 4,000lbs with under 400lbs of tongue weight. In the fall of 25 we found a 2025 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 170BH that seemed like it would be great for us. It has a 3,000lb empty weight (3750lbs max) with a 300lb empty tongue weight. We checked it out and was able to get the dealer down to a price we wanted since it was the end of the 25 season!
I have never towed anything before so was a little nervous. During this year we camped at 5 different locations, 30 days total with 100s of miles traveled! The Maverick impressed me very much! It did great towing and I averaged around 17-18mpg. The rear camera makes it simple to hook up the trailer. There is no need for any pro trailer assist stuff... It was such a fantastic experience for the family with lots of memories made. Without the Maverick this journey would of never happened! What a great little Truck!!
