New Recall on BCM ISSUE. 2022 to 2024.

About 8000 Mavericks will be recalled for surge issue from BCM. May affect tailights. Supposed software update is coming some year if lucky. Well, if this involves my truck, I'll now have 3 pending recalls on an 8 month old vehicle. Ford builds are crap. I like the idea of this truck and nothing else.

Awesome, I bought mine June 1st waiting for the backup camera recall or should I say a fix for the backup camera recall. Mine was built in March on the 22nd, wonder if that will apply to my XLT.

That issue was already a recall with software update.

Recall - 24S27 -for 239K trucks

In all of the affected vehicles, the Body Control Module (BCM) current threshold was improperly
calibrated and may falsely detect a current overload on one or both taillamp circuits. This may cause
one or both taillamps to stop illuminating during a drive cycle. Taillamp function will recover with a key
cycle or manual cycle of the headlamp switch. This issue does not affect stop lamp (including Center
Mount Stop Lamp) or turn signal functions


They may be adding more trucks to the mix, only 7.4K.

The recall was originally posted, back on April 26, 2024..
Mine has this one and has the Dec. 2023 (Tallight) and Sept. 2024 (rear camera, which has only happen once, back in Sept 2023).

If you have the Trucks' Wndow Sticker. It is at the bottom, center panel.
the last set of numbers... 00 00 00 Month/Day/Year..
Mine was October 31st, 2022...

You could look at the "Door Jamb" driver's side. The manufacturing label. (Tire pressure/weight/etc...)
Should state Month/Year. 00 / 00

Thanks for the info. I read an article dated yesterday regarding the BCM issue. I thought it was different than the tailights outage issue.
How can they sell a vehicle that has issues without telling you? If it's a safety issue they are required by law not to sell them until corrected. The incentive there would also be that if someone gets hurt, they would be liable.

This news items appears to be an extension of the original.
Original recall as my post shows was many more trucks.
This if new is a few more added.
Or perhaps this is how many didn't get it - but the name of the current recall seems to be different, despite the issue being exactly the same.

Yes it's required to do this software update before letting a new car off the lot for drive or sale.
Therefore there is nothing to tell you about issues because they did the update already.

The wording in another news article:
Federal Consumer Protection Agency ( Profeco ), together with Ford Motor Company, issued on December 26 a review notice for 7,422 units of the Ford Maverick model, corresponding to the years 2022-2024.

Review notice - not a new recall.

didn't have a 1975, but I drove a 1976 over 100,000 miles. I got a heads up about the fuel tank issue. the two tank hanger bolts extended down through the frame about 6 inches like two giant fangs, if you were hit from behind the tank would be driven into and torn open by the bolts. hacksawed them off, lived happily ever after - odd an engineer would design an installation like that. AND I never once received a deep sleep message!

The only deep sleep message you would have received back then would have been a Dream. No computers just vacuum lines with switches.
Rember the Courier mini truck by Ford before the Ranger. Actually a Mazda truck. The 88 version of the Mazda B2200 looks like what a now Maverick would have come from. Great little commuter truck.

My dad has several pinto, he loved them. He was rear ended in one, the only damage was a huge dent in the bumper.
