I know all about the labels, but what has been the most weight anyone hauled in their bed?

Last year when I was at the dealership taking delivery of my Maverick. The salesman and I were talking about the tow package on the truck. Well I mentioned I was taking the Maverick in to have a fifth wheel installed in the bed. His jaw dropped, not knowing I was joking with him. So I one day I saw a large trailer in a parking lot and pulled up next to it to take this joke photo to send the salesman.

Looks like a ball type hitch. Can’t imagine how the ball/plate hooked to the bed, since no frame under it.

Well, I’m not sure of weight, but did haul bed full of river rocks. Was told estimated maybe 1,100#. And also haul load of organic dirt. That estimated close to 900#. I laid down a heavy duty tarp inside the bed to help with clean up after we shovel most of load in wheelbarrows.

It would pull that ok, unloaded. Just as shown.

In the bed for me? About 1300 lbs.
I put air bags in the rear springs for comfort. Still needed to adjust headlamps aim DOWN quite a bit.

Easy to do with one screw.

EVERYONE - PLEASE ADJUST YOUR HEADLAMP AIM driving at night with more than a couple hundred pounds in the bed. Super fast and easy to do with just a screwdriver. I'm shocked and disappointed this isn't automatic.

I mean; the truck can "self center" in a lane at 85 mph but it can't auto-level the headlamps? Dumb. It's so easy to do. Could also be on a switch like your side mirrors.

Hauled a yard of raised garden bed soil - no sure of the weight - but wife and I agreed that if
there was a next time it would be 1/2 a yard.... Truck was definitely loaded down. Hauled full yards
of mulch multiple times - no issues - the soil was quite a bit heavier!

Edit: - so I was more than likely over the 1500 payload of the Twuck.
1 cubic yard of dry soil topsoil weighs about 2,000 pounds

Did similar. With soil. Had to do 2 hauls for raised beds, 2 off 2x8’, 2 off 4x8‘. Lots dirt to wheelbarrow too!
