WOWAre you sure it’s not the technique you’re using to get in and out? Yes, I’m a little taller than average, but I get in and out of my fx4 with 2” lift and 31” tires like it’s nothing. And that is 4” taller than the stock hybrid height.
Edit: Here’s a little food for thought. I used to have this Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It had a 4” lift kit, 1” body spacers and 38.5” tall tires. So that is 8.25” taller than stock. No running boards. No problem getting in and out. You use the door sill as a step instead of adding a running board and compromising ground clearance.

Well, you did say, “I'm destroying the outer edge of the seat every time I get in and out of the truck. My legs are not long enough to reach”.
I’ve known dozens of short-legged, petite “soccer moms” over the years that drive SUV’s that sit higher than the Maverick hybrid does. None of them had side steps for their SUV. None of them were tearing up their seat getting in and out. Using a little logic and problem solving, the question naturally arises; what is it that you are doing differently than everyone else that is causing this problem? Is that you turn a full 90 degrees, then slide down the seat edge to the ground with both feet at once? Seems like that would tear up the seat. But I don’t know, because I’ve never gotten out of a car like that.
So yes, maybe it IS your technique.

Those look good. I’ve a 25 lariat on order. My wife has mobility issues so adding a side step could help. Do they weigh much? Thanks.
I'm in the camp that I don't understand the need in a truck you sit down into. But I am also in the camp that it is your truck and do what you want.

Agreed. The seat height is 23 5/8” from ground level. Anyone with an inseam of less than 24 inches won’t be able to “sit down” into this full sized sedan with a cargo bed. Looking at mean anthropomorphic data of inseam to overall height, anyone that stands less than 4 feet 4 1/2 inches won’t be able to “sit down” on the seat, at that seat height (the mean height of 8 year old males and females).
Personally, I think it would be safer to just supervise and assist your small children into and out of the vehicle, rather than buying expensive side steps that may also pose as a safety hazard to your children, without supervised assistance.
