Should I be alarmed? My Maverick is listed for sale on dealer website

This morning I was checking my 2025 maverick construction progress on Ford website and "just to see" I entered my vin in Google.
To my great surprise I found that 'my" Maverick is for sale on my Ford dealer website.

Should I be concerned?
I contacted the dealer but it still is very early in the morning on Sunday so no one is up yet.

Bait and switch. I freaked out the first time I saw that mine was on my dealership website. It's just a way to get people to call in and inquire about it and get you to talk to sales staff. The only way they can sell it out from under you is if you didn't put down a deposit and lock in the contract.

Exactly. B&S advertising auto-generated, to try & lure unsuspecting interested parties into stealerships. Once a potential customer shows up, they'll have some story about why that truck's not available. Then they'll try and sell them something else off the lot.

During the first model year when there were no physical trucks on any of the lots, pretty much every dealership had trucks "for sale" on their web sites. Which just meant, this is what we can probably get at some later date.

Just another comment saying "it is fine".

For more detail about why this happens.......some dealerships subscribe to web services that automatically scrape data from the Ford databases to automatically add any vehicle that is in transit. Doesn't matter if it was a customer custom order or a stock order. This is why you see the auto-generated images where the truck is parked in front of a rail-car. The data they scrape includes all they need to make a listing. The color, etc... Which is why the image shows the correct truck, while still being "fake".

The good dealerships (who subscribe to this service) take the time to manually remove the customer orders from their website. But that takes time and "people-power". So some dealerships just let it ride and use them as lead generators. When people call they say "ohh that one is not available, but we have such and such available as an alternative, etc....."

My dealer actually called me to let me know my '25 Maverick was on their website and not to worry. Also gave me an ETA of Dec 22 - 27 for when they expect to receive it.

It's because Ford can control inventory on the dealer website and pushes invoiced vehicles onto it.
No nefarious intent needed.

But …another thing to remember… in Ford’s defense. IF….for any reason you decide to back out of the deal that truck already has exposure to future potential buyers. I don’t think it’s a shady tactic. They’re just doing what they do because they’re salesman and it’s a dealership. If you had that truck for sale in a private ad and on the way, the person with an Envelope full of money backs out and goes back home. wouldn’t you want the second guy that called you to come look at it?

My order is listed on the dealer website also, and the tracker doesn’t even show as shipped yet. This morning the tracker does now say "built"
