I would be tempted to buy a Lariat but the XLT LUX I thought was the better value.
What I wish I would have done, was order a second XLT Hyrbid and ordered it in Cyber Orange!
It’s wild how much the Mavericks have gone up in price and how they come with so many less options now.
When I first found out about the Maverick hybrid I thought the price was excellent for what you get.
It’s wild that you no longer get the painted side mirrors, heated windshield deicer, key pad lock on driver door, the bed rails that were included in the XLT LUX and the price is now several thousand dollars more expensive.

I would've bought a base XL and sold it for profit and then bought something else with it.

Hmmm, So ours is a 2nd vehicle. We'd gotten a 2020 Kia so I wasn't wanting to get something different yet even if that truck perfectly fit our needs. And I didn't need all the bells and whistles, so was looking at an XL, BUT the XL didn't have cruise control in year 1.

Based on the price move, I probably should have "settled" for the extra cost of an XLT instead there. I wanted the 4k tow and ecoboost/AWD though so if memory serves me right the ecoboost was the more costly engine off the bat so it's not quite as much of a difference.

Would have..

...bought: MY20022 XL EB AWD 4KTow CP360 RearSlider Sunroof SprayIn 400WInvert CactusGrey- (I looked hard to find this combo at MSRP once order banks were full... about 16 months of futility).

...found a wrecked XLT/Lariat for the rear seat back with center arm rests and had someone in Mexico rework the XL apholstry to fit it.

...found a pair of Maverick / Bronco Sport Take-Off alloys in 18" and bumped tires to 245/60 R18 to replace the Steelies/Conties

...added the factory Cruise Control Module.

I already did it; I ordered a first edition ecoboost in August 2021 but I didn't want the sunroof, and I originally had 4k towing but I removed it in January '22 because it hadn't been scheduled for production yet. (spoiler: it didn't help. truck finally scheduled in April '22.)

I had a second order as a hedge, because I'd been following the Ford order backlog on the Bronco and strongly suspected that would happen with the Maverick also. (spoiler: it did.)

That second order is my current truck. It is cactus grey instead of area 51 (first edition was only offered in 3 colors), no sunroof, 4k tow, 18" black painted wheels. I got it right the second time and would change nothing. *However* if the Tremor was available in '22 I would have ordered that... unless the Lobo was also available, and I would have ordered that above all.

I made a little bit of net profit on the first edition, but not even close to hybrid XL money. I wouldn't have time or interest in privately selling 6 XL hybrids, but considering carvana and others were paying way over sticker, that indeed would have been easy money.

When I ordered back in June of 2021 I wish I would have added the FX4 package in addition to the tow package. I think the package was only around $800 and when you stretch that out over the 3 year ownership of the vehicle it is very inexpensive for what it comes with.

Between my current '22 Lariat AWD EcoBoost and the '25 Lariat AWD EcoBoost that I ordered last week, price difference is only $3100. With the '25, I am getting some additional options not available with the '22...bigger screen with syn 4 and 360 camera system, the trailer assist package (game changer in my opinion) and Eruption Green color!

Only change I would make would be to delete the sunroof. We never use it and we would have saved about $1000. Oh, and maybe not get an Area 51, they seem to be everywhere!

Inflation happens when you print more money and put it in circulation. It's basically a tax because the Government gets to spend it. Now consider this: the first Maverick I considered buying was $1995, brand new.
