Someone on the Ford Maverick sub-Reddit posted this yesterday and I read it tonight, and confirmed that yes indeed, the Ford Pass application does now work on Android smart watches. In my case, a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, and the original Reddit post was for a Pixel Watch 3, so presumably, most Wear OS watches.

Awesome, no more grabbing my phone walking out from work....
I need to test it again, but the first time I tried on my watch it told me I needed to open the app on my phone first. I hope that was just a one-time thing. If my watch tells me to open the app on my phone every time, then the watch app is useless in my opinion. It did allow me to start my truck from my watch after I opened the phone app though. So it does function.

I just tried it on my Galaxy watch 6 classic LTE. Didn't have to open the app on my phone or anything on my watch you just have to have a pin on your watch for it to work.

Hmmm...

Well I do already have a PIN on my watch since I have Google Wallet/credit cards stored on my watch. So that doesn't explain my (possible) annoying problem. I might restart my phone and see if it prompts me to open the app on my phone again when I try to start my truck from my watch.

I suspect this has something to do with having screen lock on your phone. You have to first create a PIN/Pattern on the watch, and this persists after a watch restart (meaning I now have to use a pattern when my watch starts after a power down); however, the Ford Pass app starts without having to interact with my phone.

Yeah maybe try closing all the apps on your watch. I use the Ford pass app all the time on my phone and tablet, it would make the watch app useless if you had to open the app on your phone each time though.

I also installed it on my watch 5 pro LTE and that one required opening the app on my phone.

I just got a galaxy watch. Can someone explain how the lock screen works? Just when it starts? Or you take it off?

When I show people that I can start my truck using my watch (apple), they usually comment that it is very much “Dick Tracy”. Those of us old enough to remember Dick Tracy. It is very much a nice feature.

You'll just have to add a security pin or pattern to your watch like you do your smartphone so people can't unlock it without knowing the security pin or pattern. Then the Ford pass app will give you the option to use the PIN every time or not after it's first use.

Go to the Google Play store on your Pixel 2 watch and search Ford. That should bring up the Ford pass app for downloading.
