I am an original 22 Maverick owner, I put my order in as soon as the order banks opened. The Maverick was such a great truck for me I turned around and placed an order for a 2023. Unfortunately, the dealer said I was unlikely to get the '23 through them as they were only going to get 1 hybrid allocation from Ford, and I was order #2 for him. My response was that was not an issue for me, if it didn't get fulfilled I would turn it into a '24 order.

When the time came, my dealer reached out and asked if I wanted to roll my order into a '24, which I did. Both the dealer and Ford had stated that any unfulfilled orders would be prioritized in 2024. After four months, I reached out to my dealer and got the run around from them. About 6-8 weeks later I reached out again. The dealer called me back and told me whoever rolled my order into a '24 screwed it up and never had prioritized the order.

Over the summer, there was some rumblings in the community about our dealer having difficulties. I was frustrated with how they treated my situation and was concerned about the direction of the dealership, so I decided to go to a dealer 30 minutes south and placed an order for a '25 the week the order banks opened up.

About a month later, the local dealership closed with no notice. The '24 order was still hanging out there when it closed.

I happened to be on my Ford account to check on my points for an upcoming oil change. I happened to click on the orders link and was surprised to see the '24 had been built and it was in transit. Ford had assigned the build to a dealer an hour north of me. The page said the truck was expected to arrive the first week in November. When I went home I told my wife about it, and said I didn't have any interest in getting this '24 at the end of the production cycle when '25 production was switching over in a few weeks. I joked and said that I am hoping when I call up to the new dealer about the '24 that I hope they sold it and maybe could leverage Ford into actually prioritizing my '25 build.

Well.....I called up Nov. 8th. Evidently Ford had not communicated the order as being transferred from another dealership. The '24 had arrived on Monday and they sold it right away. The dealer felt awful and has since called me 4 times trying to make it right and help me out.

Since it worked out like I had joked about, I contacted Ford Customer Service and gave them the story. She said there wasn't anything she could do directly, however she documented the whole situation and gave me a case number. She told me that if I gave the case number to the dealer where I placed the '25 order, they should have the ability to run it up the chain and get me prioritized.

I called my salesperson at the dealership to give him the case number. After explaining everything to him, he said "I don't think I can do anything more with this to get the order done any faster." When I asked him why, customer service said you should, he said that he had just gotten notice that my '25 is scheduled to be built on Nov. 28th! Two days later I got my email from Ford confirming the scheduled build date!

So happy to hear you got a 25 being built soon. Please update with pictures after you take delivery. The story is a testament in itself how much you enjoyed the 22 and waited and worked for a newer and another Maverick. Happy trails and hopefully smooth sailing ahead.

They are not mind readers. Once they knew about it the OP was given a case number to expedite the order. Also dealerships pay to get a franchise but they are a separate owner and business.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. More importantly in this thread it appears Ford did what they could do to help after finding out the situation or circumstances.

Lol. That is what I was thinking. I am surprised over and over how little control Ford has over anything. Their dealers can basicallyy do whatever they want from what I have seen. I have a bad local dealer and it has totally soured me on Ford so far even though I like the truck. A car company is the who process. A greta car with a joke dealerhsip = a crappy car.

But if you take it to the dealership and they can’t hear the squeak then it gets no grease until after the warranty! Too late sucker!!!

And it is Ford's fault for having a broken outdated model. Still no excuse IMO.

If you guys have a gripe spit it out. The first the OP admitted the dealership didn't have allocation, but instead of looking elsewhere still put the order in. Secondly the OP also expressed the second time the dealership messed up on the order. Once the dealership closed he called Ford. At that time Ford was made aware of the situation providing a case number to expedite the build. I don't see the issue with Ford and some of the blame falls on the OP. He knew that dealership did not have enough allocation to get it built, yet he still put the order in instead of finding a dealership that had allocation.

Then WHY can’t FORD reign in some of their dealerships and say ā€˜That’s not what we stand for guys, let’s try and do better’. Ha, oops, I see where I went off track there!
