You do realize every single car manufacturer advertises their horsepower numbers at a single data point right? Your 250hp Maverick is 250hp peak at one particular point in the RPM range on an engine dyno with no transmission, drive shafts, differentials, brakes, axles, wheels or tires to sap the power. Which is why your 250hp Maverick is making at most 200hp to the road...
Nothing I said has anything to do with HP. It was the intake temp data points.

Maverick 2.0 Turbo intakes done!

Testing complete and available for shipment.

Our intake kit gained a whopping 27 whp and 17 ft lbs of torque!
The kit includes a K&N filter with lifetime warranty, powder coated intake tube and mounting hardware.
The complete testing results with before/after install pics are below.
Today we use HP Tuners to do some logging and prove there are no adverse effects on intake temps using an open element filter under the hood.
It is 37 degrees F today, both tests took place at that temperature. The truck sat with the hood closed to heat soak the factory air box and our filter kit.
The factory air box was done first and had an advantage as the engine coolant temps were lower, 172 engine temps with a starting air intake temp of 82 degrees. The truck was driven 3 miles and immediately upon return the coolant temps were 181 and the AIT's were 61 degrees.
The intake was swapped, which takes all of about 5 minutes and the hood was closed, engine was warmed up to heat soak our intake. The engine coolant temp was 176 degrees with an AIT of 84 degrees at the start of the drive, same 3 mile route was driven and immediately upon return the coolant temps were again identical 181 degrees with also identical AIT's of 61 degrees.
The kits are ready to ship and only $199!

They should be on our site soon but you can call now to order, 567-424-0471.

Do you think there'd be any differences with an open end green filter?

as someone who isnt mentally handicapped:

when a dyno chart shows an improvement anywhere on the chart over a previous run - the largest gain is the HP gain. is it the same as an average gain - no - but its not abnormal to mention the peak gain as the improvement.

also dynos happen in higher gears around 3-4th gear - so this is also normal.

the only thing i would question butcher on is - will it show this gain after driving it around for 30-40 miles and the ECU relearning. will it then hop back on the dyno and show the same improvement?

otherwise arguing that a dyno chart showing a 27hp improvement isnt a 27hp improvement - well dont know how to tell you about being a special little buddy.
To clear up a couple things you said. He claims the hp gain at 85mph at 27whp. I think at the bottom of your first paragraph you misspoke and used the term peak gain. Peak gain is the highest hp gain on 1 graph minus the highest hp gain on another graph, or peak to peak.

Also 3rd and 4th gear aren't higher gears on this car. 6th gear is 1-1. 6th would show more power and torque compared to 4th because that gear is more loaded.

I see the boost is close to 30 psi now. Any signs of ECU nannies logging “above stock” levels with this new setup? Is fuelcut still a thing?
Where are you seeing it close to 30psi? If it's manifold absolute pressure, you first have to subract 14.7psi, or 1 bar, because that first 14.7psi is the atmospheric pressure, or where a boost/vacuum gage would read 0.

@Buschur how late in the season is Norwalk open? Can we get some passes the first week of December? 😂

edit: or maybe dragway 42? After I get my truck, I’d be happy to come along and witness/verify/ provide a second truck to test trap speeds on.
I’d be down too. I’m planning on purchasing the intake and catch can as soon as I get my truck

I'd like to see the results of two 0-60 or 1/4 mile runs with the stock and aftermarket air intakes.
Since the swap only takes 5 minutes it should be very easy to make the two runs back-to-back.
So when you buy the setup are you going to go make some runs and post results...may be interesting to others as well

27 horsepower from an air box replacement? Sorry but that just doesn’t sound probable / accurate. Can you please post your data on this.
Nothing magic here, Buschers dyno #'s make sense and the whole gain claim is a normal, logical, and commonly used way to describe same.

There is no doubt that opening the air path, thereby decreasing the parasite load, will increase performance, basic stuff here. Buscher did not claim that he discovered anything new in the world of internal combustion.

Running this type filter element brings some added responsibility, keep it cleaned and properly oiled sure - I would recommend to keep an eye on wear metals too through routine oil sampling.

I don't know what you are seeing or asking but...............
Great display of patience 👍

Norwalk is closed, I'd like to hit 42. The truck is currently in the shop for the catback exhaust design/build and a larger intercooler.

Super simple, if you don't think his product will do what he claims, don't buy it. Or, take him up on his challenge.

Any plans to make a heat shield for this intake?
After the testing today back to back with the stock enclosed box and our intake and proving there is no need for a heat shield, no, we will not waste time/money and making a more expensive part that will not add anything but cost.

We contacted Green and have filters on order, I however don't like the "green" color and everything we order (all custom built for us) we have them do in black.

You were testing at 37*F correct? Fairly sure you are not going to see heat soak at that ambient temp. Have you tested back to back at say, 80*F? Sitting in the staging lanes at the track, where IAT's can hit mid 100's?

Yep, testing in the weather we had......can't say I tested it in 80 degree days since I'm in Ohio and haven't had the truck with the parts in those temps.

The "results" will be the same in all conditions. The underhood temps are going to be XX with the factory box or our filter, then as soon as the car moves the temps are going to drop just like they did here. I had this truck sitting and idling for a LONG time before each test to get the engine coolant temps and air intake temps up, then as soon as it moved to the road the temps drop, it's like this on every single platform we've ever tested.
