Both a 12v fix and this in one day? Ford is actually paying attention.

I have this problem except mine is not two-wheel drive. 😆😆😆

Full TSB, including repair procedure, is here.

https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/

Video of how to place the block on the passenger side is here:

Interesting... I didn't watch the video yet, but I don't know why this would be only be in effect for 2wd models. The TSB doesn't show at the link when I enter my VIN.

I must be one of the few lucky ones that doesn't have any rattles. I figured they would eventually crop up, but I recently drove a lot of off-road and gravel/dirt miles in CO and still don't have any.

Site doesn't seem to be working and I have no idea where the work being done in the video is on my truck. Can we get a little more context?

It just stopped working for me as well. Both of us accessing it at the same time must have really taxed it. 😆

There are two foam insulators that must be installed under the dash against the firewall. One is on the driver side, accessed through the steering column shroud, and one is on the passenger side accessed through the glovebox. That's the video I posted, of the passenger one.

Minimally invasive procedure - basically zero removal of fasteners and dash components.

Yeah, I have no idea why it's 2wd only. I think that's insane given the dash doesn't change.

I'm super curious as to why this is 2WD only? Regardless, I'll attempt this with my AWD.

Yep. All of us on the thread seem to be thinking the same thing.

I will say...I'm very impressed by what they've decided to share publicly on that site. Having access to the repair procedure, dimensions of the foam blocks, and even video is phenomenal. Props to Ford.

Neither my 2022 FWD EB nor 2024 FWD EB Mavericks have any rattles. If dash rattles ever show up it is good to know there is an easy fix.

I just called my dealership and told them about this service bulletin. I just purchased this 2023 Maverick Lariat Hybrid with 15k on it about 4 weeks ago. The dash rattles down rough paved roads. The lady I talked to asked for my vin number and she didn’t find anything about this on my truck specifically she said. What can I do next? I read the service bulletin and my truck is under warranty so they should fix it, correct? Just looking to see how to do the correct line of command to get it fixed after looking at service bulletin. TIA

This is the kind of thing that happens in new models. Glad to hear they figured it out.

I had the dash noise which I describe more as a rumble than a rattle, in my '22 EB Lariat. My '24 hybrid Lariat dash is much better but still could benefit from any noise abatement.

For those of us who are brave and willing to undertake it ourselves, I wish FoMoCo would make detailed instructions and the foam blocks available.

EDIT: Detailed instructions ARE included if you log into www.ford.com/support/service-information/ and enter VIN. [However, I could not get them to print. ]

For the curious, the part referred to as "Routunda Urethane Strip" appears to be a foam shim to use with the Foam Block in case the gap is greater than the thickness of the foam block.

Also, as more info is made available, what and where do the rotunda urethane strips go? [164-R4902, which contains two rotunda urethane strips]. Does the fix require both the blocks and urethane? Curious minds want to know.
Follow the link in @bgn's post and select your vehicle. That has the full details on placement, etc.. The strips are just for if the kit's original blocks aren't thick enough to wedge in place. They get stuck to the larger block to turn it into a 20mm x ~16mm (vs 20x13).
