Maverick 2.0 Turbo intakes done!

Testing complete and available for shipment.

Our intake kit gained a whopping 27 whp and 17 ft lbs of torque!
The kit includes a K&N filter with lifetime warranty, powder coated intake tube and mounting hardware.
The complete testing results with before/after install pics are below.
Today we use HP Tuners to do some logging and prove there are no adverse effects on intake temps using an open element filter under the hood.
It is 37 degrees F today, both tests took place at that temperature. The truck sat with the hood closed to heat soak the factory air box and our filter kit.
The factory air box was done first and had an advantage as the engine coolant temps were lower, 172 engine temps with a starting air intake temp of 82 degrees. The truck was driven 3 miles and immediately upon return the coolant temps were 181 and the AIT's were 61 degrees.
The intake was swapped, which takes all of about 5 minutes and the hood was closed, engine was warmed up to heat soak our intake. The engine coolant temp was 176 degrees with an AIT of 84 degrees at the start of the drive, same 3 mile route was driven and immediately upon return the coolant temps were again identical 181 degrees with also identical AIT's of 61 degrees.
The kits are ready to ship and only $199!

They should be on our site soon but you can call now to order, 567-424-0471.

Why is the last temp reading different then the rest.. The engine not running, must of uploaded the wrong pic?

27 horsepower from an air box replacement? Sorry but that just doesn’t sound probable / accurate. Can you please post your data on this.

I don't know what you are seeing or asking but I just looked over what I posted and it's all correct.

There's another thread on this with the dyno results from last week. It is 100% accurate, same day testing within minutes of each other and each run repeated the same results.

Engine rpm in the last data point is zero while all the rest is at idle.

I had just stopped the truck and turned the key off as I was taking the picture. If you think about it, that would be a worst case scenario for what I'm trying to show, engine off equals no air flow which increase temps everywhere quickly.

Found your other thread and yes I was correct you did not gain 27 hp by slapping an intake onto it.

Saying you’ve gained 27 hp is not accurate is highly deceptive.

I don't know what you are reading or think is deceptive but that's the 4th gear from the dyno run and the results are right there.

I'll tell you what, buy the intake, bring the truck, I'll install and dyno it for free. When the results are the same as we have here you give me an exta $100. Anyone else, who hasn't decided I'm being deceiving, I'll do the same offer for, minus the $100 extra.

So to be clear, bring your truck here, stand and watch, video tape etc. We will dyno the truck swap the parts, dyno again for free, you just buy the intake.

I don't understand the hate toward Buschur.

He is selling a product that appeals to some and doesn't appeal to others.

It doesn't appeal to me. I'm 61 and don't want to modify or hotrod my Maverick.

I prefer to keep any changes to a practical and functional nature that fits me.

Some future Maverick owners here are pretty young and are all about performance & bling.

One size does not fit all.

I'm pretty sure I read in his other thread that he specifically stated he gained 27whp in the top of 4th gear. Meaning specifically at one point on the graph, it gained 27whp, which it did. It doesn't appear it made 27whp peak to peak, which is probably what you are suggesting is his claim.

In all reality you shouldn't be worried about peak to peak, or just one spot, but what it does to the whole area under the curve. And as you can see, there is a gain basically across the whole curve. That is not bad at all, and shows that under high rpm, the intake box from the factory is very restrictive, or not tuned to the high rpm range.

Dave: If you want to get the whole 4th gear run, I believe there is a solution. My buddy put his mav in Low on the selector, and it will go though each gear to redline and then shift. When it got to 3rd gear for him, he slowed down, but Low left him in that gear and didn't downshift. So theoretically you could do the same thing on the dyno and pull 4th back to 2500-3000 and do a full pull (Or 6th gear, since that is the 1:1)

Just a suggestion,

John

You have to be going 100 miles an hour to achieve the 27 hp, probably 2.7 hp at relevant speeds.

Correct, we haven't been able to see an rpm based dyno because the Maverick doesn't have an option to select individual gears. This gain we see across the whole 4th gear is probably about 2,000rpms. If you look at his graph in the other intake thread, you can see the smaller gains at lower speeds, it looks to be about 10whp at 48mph, and as little as 0 gain for some parts of the graph, which should be expected, as with no airflow being required, the stock airbox is perfectly fine.

You should look up the definition of the word 'hate'.
Challenging someone on their product's performance figures is NOT hate.
Disagreeing with someone is NOT hate.
Buschur has the right to produce the product and list its performance improvements and others have the right to challenge those figures.
