An amusing revelation on my drive in to work today.

Most of us here on the forum are enamored with our little trucklettes. I know I am. I'm loving mine.
So as I'm driving in to work, my head's on a swivel looking out to see if anyone is checking out my new hooptie.
Whether at a stop light or just putting along, I guess I was expecting to be getting all this attention as if I was in a lime green Lambo. HA HA HA

So far, no one's given a second look and I started laughing to myself thinking what a spaz I am.

No looks 'cause it's not a Hybrid!

I’m sure I will do the same thing when I get mine. Haven’t seen one on the road here yet.

You just haven't driven past me yet. I'd go nuts if I saw your Carb Gray rolling down the road. I actually have the opposite occur - my head is on a swivel looking for Mavs that I can pull up next to and check out (even though I've driven one already). Disappointingly so, I haven't seen any out in the wild yet.

Lol....yes, we are still in our own little niche world. I'm still surprised even when I mention the Maverick people are like "What is that, a new F-150 trim level?" I've yet to see one on the road yet either.

Soon we will be known as the crowd that couldn’t afford a 150
Or we could be known as the crowd that figured out we didn't need a 150 to pickup up groceries or go to McDonald's.

True. I've told two people that I ordered a Ford Maverick and I had to explain to them what it was. Both of them initially thought of the old car, not the new truck --though admittedly both of these people are older (60s) and understandingly not up on the new tuck scene.

I was in a bad wreck a couple years ago, the other driver didn't see me coming and pulled out in front of me. I T-boned him at 55 mph. My Civic did what it was supposed to do and I walked away from it. My Civic was silver and nearly the same color of the road.

That day I said that from now on I was going with a bright, loud color and DRL's to draw maximum attention to myself.

Now I ordered a stealth Cactus Gray Maverick. I'm actually a little nervous about the low visibility it will make on an overcast or rainy day.

Living in the snowy north I would not order a white vehicle for that same reason.
