I ordered a Maverick EcoBoost AWD with 4K tow package on 2/29. On 8/29, Ford decided it would be produced the week of 9/23.

This morning, out of boredom I decided to check status again, and I wanted to look at the 360-degree interior view, too. Status showed the same: scheduled for production week of 9/23.

Imagine my surprise when, about an hour later, I got a text from my sales guy stating, "Your Maverick is in."

"How can that be?" I replied, "It's not scheduled to be built until next week."

He called me up and explained that he's off today and won't be back at work until Tuesday, but that his manager said that my name showed up on a spreadsheet of deliveries and told him to let me know.

I told him I can wait until Tuesday to find out that it hasn't been built yet.

Anyway, until the quantum wave collapses on Tuesday my Maverick is simultaneously awaiting production and awaiting me at the dealership.

Concerning Maverick orders, Please note the year also. I waited over a year and a half for my MY23 Hybrid ordered in 2022 that ended up being a MY24.

Imagine a situation where the tracker didn't get updated and your vehicle did get built ahead of schedule. It happened with my very first Bronco.

I think I'd go to the dealer and confirm in person, that the Maverick is there. Or isn't. Don't trust the tracking system too much.

The sales guy will get back to me on Tuesday. It hasn't even been a month since Ford said they were going to schedule it. Is it likely it could be built ahead of schedule and shipped from Mexico to Florida in under a month?

Yes. You're treating the tracker like gospel.

Did you receive your VIN# from Ford? If yes - it'll definitely be your vehicle or it won't but don't take the tracker as the truth.

The tracker, well, the sales manager at the dealer since I never got access to the tracker, told me that my truck was in Detroit, awaiting a rig to deliver it. It had originally been slated for mid July. He told me mid-August.

3 days later, my salesman called and said that my truck was at the dealership.

Did you receive your VIN# from Ford? If yes - it'll definitely be your vehicle or it won't but don't take the tracker as the truth.
