2024 XLT Tremor Ecoboost 2.0 engine noise/rattle at startup

My truck has around 4k on it and has made this noise off and on for a few months now. Many times it sounds like the turbo is spooling up, but not a smooth sound at all (hear video). It goes away after driving off pretty quickly, but is very annoying at startup and idle when it happens (every 2 or 3 starts). I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. and what they have found out about it. I will take the issue to the dealer at some point.

NOT good. Take in for warranty ASAP. You may be doing damage of you keep driving.

Take it to the dealer. Hard to tell from the video but it sounds like the secondary high pressure pump. Or the valve train. Oil level correct? Sometimes there's a waist gate rattle on these engine however I never heard that noise.

I agree with the advice of going to the dealer is your best option, they might fix it in minutes, vs you keep driving it and causes and bigger problems.

Let us know what they find.
If thats not any thing on accessory drive, i would lean towards turbo/wastgate or even flexplate/torque converter to bellhousing/starter interference.

Sounds like 2 metal surfaces that are intended to never touch, are intermittently touching. Like a metal fan blade that is out of balance and rubbing on the adjacent metal fan shroud. Speed sounds too fast to be en engine accessory when the engine is at idle.

Update: I finally got it into the dealer as the noise was getting progressively worse and more frequent.
It turned out to be a failing Radiator cooling fan assembly:

The sound seemed like it was coming from the top rear of the engine, but apparently not. I have run it for 2 days now with many start stops and the noise is gone.
This was covered by warranty and my first experience with the Ford service department was very positive.

Good to know thanks for posting back on the fix. Thankfully it wasn't a motor issue in just a simple radiator fan replacement.
