forgot to say:

"Trust hybrid owners more than EcoBoost owners on this."

And then, only hybrid owners who have run the air conditioner at maximum setting with the key to run and engine off (and hood open) will hear this SAME SOUND.

😎

Hybrid owners, please DO before posting your opinions on the normalness.
Hmm maybe you are right, I just tested with MAX AC turn on, then I could hear the noise again.
I do not remember the night of video when I recorded, was MAX AC on or not.
I will test it more I hope not a technical issue. Thank you for your idea.

Five days ago different thread.

What did the dealer say???
I visited the dealership, and they said just leave the truck for 4 days, then their mechanics will look up the issue a few days later from today. So I just came back home for now.
I asked for any customer experience about this, and then they said no idea and never seen before.

I have the Ecoboost so I believe the hybrid owners who say it's normal as they would know more than the Ecoboost owners. The only thing I have in common is at the end of the video it seems like when you dropped the hood it didn't latch and I have that problem quite often. And then I try to press it closed and it doesn't work so I have to open it again and raise it a little higher and then drop it to get out to latch. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Yes, I did double time push down to hook it.

Totally normal.

That noise is from the Electric AC compressor.

If you have the temp setting at maximum it can be noisy.

With the hood closed and the windows up I really don't notice it even with the radio off.
unfortunately, I could hear this noise even all closed windows

It is very loud while on Max Cool. In 109°F interior of cabin will be 140 maybe more. If AC is set on auto then it will max out whether ice is running or not. Ice will run on MAX AC. While on automatic when temp drops to where air flow cannot use all BTU from condenser then the condenser will be reduced in RPM to whatever can be used. The ice will cycle on and off as needed. If you choose Max Cool then unlike auto the ice will remain on as well as condenser. (Max heat or max cool is one way you can keep ice running without cycling on/off, at least on hybrid). There have been several threads with recordings in the past. The lariat with the sound reducing windshield keeps a lot of noise out of cabin, so you may want to ask for one if you replace your windshield. FYI the AC on max cool has enough capacity to cool a two or some three bedroom houses. Of course you can put AC on manual with fan no faster than three and condenser will not run flat out.
As "MakinDoForNow" posted, pretty much normal.
Yes you are going to hear it inside the cab.
I sent you a PM with my number. We can walkthrough with my hybrid the A/C sounds.
Good luck

I drove my Maverick hybrid since last week, but I heard this noise 4 times until now.
I couldn't hear this today. I am not sure which condition causes this noise.
This noise happened immediately after turning on my maverick. So I think ICE was off in that moment.
I pushed the AC button to off it and turned on the AC a few seconds later, then the noise was gone.

Anyone had the same issue on this forum?

Yup. I also have that issue. Was going to post, but you already have. I’m thinking the A/C compressor since is electric and not driven by a belt.

It's the electric AC compressor. Mine started doing it about 6 months after delivery and Ford replaced it. The new one is worse and they were supposed to replace it but now are saying it is normal.

At one point it didn't do it and then it started. Who knows.

Holy crap you Hybrid owners have to put up with that? I've never once heard my A/C compressor make those noises on sweltering days. I'd be checking the cabin filter if it did.

No way that noise should be normalized. Unless it's just super loud due to the recording or something, but it didn't seem like it.

FORD and their noisey under the hood things man 🤣

If I am on MAX AC then I here it somewhat.

I am only on MAX AC when I get into a hot Maverick but switch to normal AC when I pull out and in that mode I do not hear the AC.

It happens when I set up MAX AC, which means the AC compressor is powered by an electric motor in full power. when ICE turns on or reaches the proper interior temperature, it will be less noisy.
