Sounds like a really easy install.Same mount points as stock for the skid plate. The catalytic converter took about 30mins, but it isn't the final design, so could change. Sorry, I don't think I have any other pics.
would water held by the felt not cause corrosion?Excited to see the aluminum skid plates they're launching for the felt panels...wonder if it'd be possible to keep the felt on there to keep road noise down.
Probably. That's a good point. Not sure how big of a problem it would be for aluminum skid plates but the felt certainly wouldn't help.would water held by the felt not cause corrosion?
Not sure what clips you are talking about. It mounts in the stock locations. The blue things are rubber buffers to prevent any rattling.I held out after seeing those clip things. What are those and where do they go? Any play in them when removing?

The fumotos need an adapter for our oilpan some people have broken the adapter/extension though when trying to torque it to spec, though others have had no problems. Another option I saw floating around was the Stahlbus. Though personally I'd go for the valve over the ballbearing style. My reasons are only anecdotal though.Do you use a drain valve (like fumoto)? If so, which?
I'm considering the Rival plate and a drain valve but am curious about compatibility

I didn't notice these on the skid plate, but maybe I missed it when Rivals installed (I helped install though). I did see these used on the catalytic converter cover, wasn't sure how those went on. I stepped away when that one was installed. These:

I saw how Rival used them in the instructions and I'm skeptical.
The instructions seem to show one that actually seats inside the round portion the bolt goes through, so maybe it was re-designed to avoid potentially moving when you remove the skid plate bolts?I didn't notice these on the skid plate, but maybe I missed it when Rivals installed (I helped install though). It must mount slightly differently when comparing Hybrid/FX4/Tremor maybe some use these movable nuts and some don't.The instructions seem to show one that actually seats inside the round portion the bolt goes through, so maybe it was re-designed to avoid potentially moving when you remove the skid plate bolts?
Either way, it's got the quick oil change stuff so I don't see much need to constantly remove it once it's up. Probably not a big deal.
I think I'm just trying to justify not spending money at this point
Because I really want one.
The Tremor one is smaller than the regular mavs. It's the same that goes on the Bronco badlands (basically)It must mount slightly differently when comparing Hybrid/FX4/Tremor maybe some use these movable nuts and some don't.
good thoughts; I would probably just use a sound deadening product. they make some that are spray-on, but I haven't used any because they are generally not well reviewed, for car audio applications.Honestly I don't think the felt panels make that much difference. We took them off and there's not much to them. I'm sure you could probably cut the original ones and glue them if you wanted to try.
ValvoMax as well can be found easily enough in the threads the mav takesHe might be thinking of the pigtail nuts that are used
