I saw one the other day on its way to a truck pull, and I wanted it.

If its got a 351 or 460, 5 speed, and before 93ish. I'd say go for it. If it has a C6 maybe, E4OD no. Also my 96 has a engine designed in 1962 and no less that 13,000 emissions gizmos stolen from doctor whos tardis. They control everything and do nothing. They are all plastic and if one has invisible hairline crack you will never beat 12mpg.

Still bad ass truck that has no concern for actual payload or tow ratings. It will do anything.

I used to own a 97' F350 CCLB with the 7.3. What an absolute unit to try and start in the winter. Save money for a spare CPS and a starter. Dual fuel tanks are fun though but if you honked the horn too aggressively it would die.....even doing 70mph down the freeway.
