If you order a Maverick from the Ford website using the build and price. When you go to the dealership to pick up your truck is that the price you pay or will there be any additional costs?

It depends on the dealer. At minimum you're going to have tax & title/registration. Most are going to charge you a documentation fee on top of that & some are going to add accessories/services. I would call/visit the dealer & ask what they charge & if they'll give you a signed pricing breakdown based on your build. If they won't, I'd go somewhere else.

I'm not sure if you meant the question as you typed it but to be clear you can't actually order a Maverick on Ford's website. You can build it as you want it but then you have to enter your information to complete the order with you preferred local Ford dealership. The dealership will then contact you about completing the order. Likely you'll have to go to the dealership and also leave a deposit. For your other question, yes there will be tax, title, registration and a doc fee. Also the dealership may have other fee's or mandatory add ons. Each dealership is different.

When I ordered my Maverick at the dealership, the price matched the build and price page on the Ford website. The dealer never mentioned any additional charges, so I'm unsure whether there will be any extra fees. That's why I was wondering if there would be any extra charges.

No one here can answer that for you with certainty. Have you contacted the dealership to ask them?

Ask the dealer for a printed itemized list of all the fees, charges, costs, discounts etc. that go into the out the door price. If they won't do it, go somewhere else.

Take window sticker price (including delivery charges ) and add 8% for a walk out the door price.

Yes that works for a horseback estimate to see how deeply they are into your rear end. With '25's soon to be real, discounts should exist on 24's.

I have learned that what on paper seems like a good deal doesn't translate, especially if they have a load of XLT's to dispose of and someone is adament they want an XL because on paper it looks better.

Depends on the dealership. Fairway Ford in Greenville, SC took my build price and didn't try to upsell at all.

Dealers can vary widely in fees. I ordered my 22MY Mav from Granger due to their low fees...highly recommend them!!

I have serious complaints with the dealer in the town I live.
1. On August 1, 2024, I ordered a Lariat Hybrid with BAP. I also ordered one from Spring Texas in November as a backup.

2. The hometown dealer claimed to deliver at MSRP. (It came in during the month of May 2024)

3. Ford screwed around with all Lariat Hybrids . Had a build date in February 2024, but the Spring, Texas order was delivered to the dealer in April, ahead of my other order. However I was frustrated with the delaying of build dates (4 times), so I called the dealer in Spring in February and asked if they had any FX4’s in stock. His answer was, ā€œyour timing couldn’t be better, we are currently off loading 5 XLT’s, some of which are FX4’s.ā€; so I asked if one of them would be available for immediate sale hopefully in Cactus Gray. He said that one FX4 was in that color, loaded up with several options that a customer who ordered it had just declined. He said that they would honor MSRP pricing plus only a small document fee. So I ask how soon can it be ready, to which he said tomorrow. I went there and bought it on the morrow, just as he promised. Love it, very happy. Their service people had already added a couple of dealer added upgrades. He said he wouldn’t ask me to pay because of our agreement. Now thatā€˜s a dealer I will go back to.

4. In May the vehicle I ordered in my home town came in and they proceeded to charge some dealer added upgrades, for $1,900.
a. Spray on Bed Liner - should be included in Lariat pricing
b. Nitrogen filled tires
c. Tinted Glass

5. I went in (without being called to tell me it was ready) and said I wanted to see my vehicle. They seemed surprised. When I saw it I questioned the unapproved upgrades and was told that is what we are selling, take it or leave it. Obviously I didn’t need it so it was easy to walk out.

6. During the month of May, I got a notice from Ford thanking me for my new order from that same company. Same order number, same specification. I didn’t think much of it, but today I was told by Ford that it was shipped and expected to arrive at the dealership between September 14 and September 20. How can they do this. They used my D.L. Number and the same internal order number with Ford.

I am going to check it out to see what they do to this one. iMO this dealer is at least, unethical and bordering on corrupt. I am sure glad I had a backup scenario with a reputable dealer. My vehicle that I bought in February,

is everything I hoped it would be.

Dealers are instructed to not add extra costs outside of documentation fees to retail orders. Any dealer doing so risks having allocations pulled by Ford. Trucks that the dealer has ordered for the lot are free game.

I configured a build on the Ford website. I then went to my Ford dealer and told him exactly what I wanted and they configured it and it was exactly the same price. I did have to pay documentation fee and title and transfer fee but that was only a couple hundred bucks. And I ended up saving a couple thousand dollars because of the d plan I think it was.
