Infotainment/backup camera freeze?

Yes, and I reported to nhtsa months ago. They are now actively investigating this issue and I have pointed them to other threads on this issue on MTC.

One of my responsibilities is to follow up with owners whose motor vehicles have issues that are reported to NHTSA (http://www.nhtsa.gov/). As part of my analysis, I gather as much information as possible surrounding the event. This allows the agency to fully evaluate the technical issues. I am reaching out to follow up on a complaint we received from you regarding your Ford Maverick.

Can you please confirm if you have continued to experience the issue since submitting your complaint? Have you received a diagnosis or any repairs from your dealership relating to this issue? Additionally, can please provide me with a good time this week for a short follow-up phone call?"

What really blows my mind is how many hybrid owners report really insane safety issues (like suddenly shutting down in the middle of busy interstates) to MTC but don't report them to NHTSA.

A lot of people don't know about NHTSA, or remember them. They just go to the forum, or FB groups they are on everyday. If I feel it's a safety issue, NHTSA will get the report.

I went to service Monday, Aug 12. They were unable to replicate my touch screen issue. Later in the day, while I was driving (85° out) the screen bugged again.

There appears to be a new recall for this, announced today, but no remedy available, when I logged into my Ford account:

On your vehicle, it may be possible for you to experience a frozen rear view camera display image while in reverse.

Safety Risk
This may result in a false representation of where the vehicle is relative to its surroundings, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy
Ford Motor Company is working extensively to produce a module software update for this repair. When software becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge parts and labor.

Mine got stuck on the back up camera screen even after switching to Drive. It took about a minute before the infotainment system reset itself back to normal. Only happened once so far.

It do it every time in my 24, when I got I can watch the camera. When get to 10 mph it go away.

It's obvious now that Ford is doing everything it can to facilitate fixing a hardware issue with a software fix. According to FordVideoGuy the latest attempt failed. The saga continues.

Maybe this latest attempt at a software fix was an effort to get the holdovers off the lots while waiting to procure the necessary hardware, which would be a daunting task given the amount of trucks involved. Am I being overly optimistic here?

I agree. Ford is trying anything not to admit that they're Connect Touch Infotainment system is complete garbage.
Ford says, It just needs a little fine tuning.
