I'm the same. Throw it in auto, and slightly adjust temp every once and a while.
I never use auto mode. It usually doesn't get the setting right. Like when the windshield is iced over, to put full power to the windshield need to manually set defrost. Maybe the auto mode is defective on all my vehicles.

This is my biggest pet peeve haha. The vehicle won't turn on the auto defrost until the vehicle is warmed up. My wife always blasts the cold air right away. I've never had a problem with iced up windows with auto mode, as long as your patient. Also I'm pretty sure that the defrost is a physical button in 2025. (Or maybe that's the rear defrost.)

I am currently on the fence between the '25 and the '24. I have a '24 Lariat Ecoboost(4k Tow) on order that is 100% my desired spec. However, despite the appearance issues with the '25, I am tempted due to 2 factors:

  • The 360 Camera
  • Co-Pilot 2.0

(I'd love to have the Tow/Trailer Assist, but it's not needed so I'm not really factoring that in.)

Can anyone with these features on other Ford vehicles enlighten me on their quality, and if I should even consider passing up the 24 for them?

I'd love to get my Maverick before next year, but if these features are worth it I would consider biting the bullet.
I'm thinking you should order the '25 now and buy the '24 when it comes in. You get the '24 much sooner, and you have time to test the '24 and to think if the '25 options are "necessary". Trucks are holding their values so well now, you can do it.

Actually you might MAKE money on the one you don't keep. Carvana offered me $25,400 on my '22 Hybrid Maverick XLT with 35k miles on it. I paid $26,000 out the door. If I sold it today, I would have effectively paid $600 + 2 years of interest on the loan to "lease" a car for 26 months. It's worth considering.

If it's something you never had in the first place, you wouldn't miss it. My 23 maverick is the first vehicle I've ever owned with a backup camera. it is convenient, but I made it 64 years without one.
I guess but I sort of disagree. Yes you don't necessarily Miss what you didn't have but that's kind of the point. Once you get it you realize what you were missing and if it is an improvement why not? I first got a backup camera in a car when I was 47. Now I wouldn't want to have a car without it. Well actually I do have one car without it and it is much more of a pain in the butt backing up in certain situations. I've never had wireless Android auto in a car but using Android auto daily and plugging in multiple times between personal car and work truck I can visualize the improvement it would be

Good points,I opted for the lux pkg for my wife's maverick and she loves the heated seats and steering wheel.she said she wouldn't go without now.

I was in the same boat... My 24 is suppose to be built the week of 9/2 and have decided to stay with the 24. Who knows, may think about a 2026 to get those options (though the green is only a 1 year option). Though I would like the eruption green, larger screen, the front sensors, and all the new trailer stuff, I can't wait for the 25. I need the 4k towing for this winter (am a snowmobiler and tow from central MA to northern ME and sometimes into Quebec several times a year). I have a new trailer that when fully loaded, add the 2 of us and our gear, the total weight would be getting close to 3,000 lbs (this is about 500lbs heavier than what I was towing with the old trailer). Whereas I currently tow with a 2020 Escape 2.0EB with 3,500lb capacity, don't really want to get that close to the max towing capacity with the Escape.. In addition to being heavier, the trailer is 16" taller which will add more wind resistance. However, since it is 12" narrower, maybe that will offset some of the addl. height wind resistance. Hoping I get similar mileage as to the Escape so I only have to stop twice between home and Ft. Kent. At both stops now, my under 50 miles to empty light is already on. lol

Assuming the Maverick's functionality is the same as Ranger and F-150, I believe that ProTrailer will be very useful for anyone who does not have significant experience backing up trailers. There are videos on YouTube, it's pretty impressive. Seeing the load while towing is also often helpful.

I have 360 cameras on my Bronco. I do use them just because they're there, but the Bronco has a lot taller hood, larger side mirrors and just generally larger blindspots in the front and front corners. I would definitely be fine without them and I think if you have to park your Maverick in tight quarters often it will be valuable, for many though, not really a significant benefit.

Sync4 itself, not even considering the 13.2" screen, is a big upgrade from the Lariat lux B&O Sync3 and it's a monumental improvement on all other MY22-24 Mavericks' Ford Connected Audio which is slow, buggy and overall a terrible piece of technology. That'll probably be the biggest thing people notice 2-3+ years from now when considering a used Maverick, just how crappy the base 22-24 infotainment performs.

I was all set to trade my '24 Lariat EcoBoost for a '25 EB... until I learned about the gasoline particulate filter (GPF) added to EB. For most of you that shouldn't be an issue, but it is for me since 95% of my driving is short trips in town that don't heat the GPF enough to let it clear out the carbon. I considered getting a hybrid, but since I drive less than 200 miles/month, the hybrid is not worth the extra $1200 to me. So, I'll sit on the sideline a year or two and reevaluate it then.

I very seriously considered trading my 2022 XLT LUX ECO CP360 with 27,000 miles for a new 2025 similarly equipped. Then I checked trade values from multiple sources. After I modeled the numbers in Excel, I saw that upgrading me would cost $10,000 here in WNC, I quickly deep-sixed that thought. My dealer didn't even return an email asking for a package quote on a trade - I guess they either don't want used Mavericks, or they still have a long new Maverick waiting list and new orders just make the list longer.

What really caught me by surprise was the plummeting trade value of my two year old Maverick - I was offered around $25,000 for mine from several online quoting systems (trade value was higher at around $27,000), and an "identical" 2025 replacement is around $35,000. No thank you - the 2025 just doesn't offer enough to make me pull that trigger.

I find the 2025 a mixed bag. Ford took several steps backwards, several steps forward. I think the tech is nicer - but honestly Sync4 is still 5 years behind the competition. They removed physical controls, which makes the car less safe. But they added safety equipment that makes the car more safe. And they made it uglier.

I'm not in the "I hate Santa Cruz" crowd. I'm interested in their 2025 refresh and will check it out this fall. Most likely I'll patiently wait to see what other products are announced by Ford and competitors over the next few years. One can always hope that this market segment heats up and spawns more small trucks.

That last paragraph is part of what makes me want to skip on getting a 24, my local dealer has a good 10 on the lot, and order it 25 once I set eyes on one. I know this is the first world problem but slow buggy technology is annoying to me. I've seen other reviews and YouTube videos where people have complained about having to reboot the screen regularly.

I understand your caution but I think that the short trip issue you mentioned is not nearly the concern with GPF compared to diesel particular filters. Europe has been using GPF for several years now.

Based on some digging I did last week, I believe that the GPF heats extremely fast, likely before the engine coolant reaches 4 bars. The filter also has a longer life and isn't as prone to clogging as a diesel particulate filter.

I'm not expecting you to change your mind based on this info. Being cautious is a good idea, however, to see any real long-term effects it would take several years to get a lot of data, even though we will get some info within a year because of high-mileage drivers.

If you don't have the 24 yet, I'd just get the 25. The screen and wireless car play is enough for me.

To be completely honest, I'm playing with the idea of down grading from a 24 Lariat to a 25 XLT to get the features that work best for me and none of the extra that isn't bettering my experience.
If the price point is close enough and you get the features you really want on the 25 to me that's a no brainer.
