Anyone have access to actual details on the ‘25 hybrid AWD drivetrain? Im really interested in seeing what’s been changed as far as the eCVT and drive to the rear wheels. Is there a second motor for the rear or did they actually send a driveshaft/ torque tube to a rear diff?

So many questions. Thanks

Building on this thread… Has the size of the hybrid battery increased for the AWD and if so has the fwd hybrid battery gained capacity?

it took months to pin down the actual final drive ratio on the Tremor, even longer to determine if the axles were actually different than other Mavericks so good luck.

if someone does get the details correct on your question there will be a half dozen members determined to argue why those details are wrong, buckle up.

Toyota and Stellantis seem to be the only ones doing eAWD these days. Ford used a mechanical driveshaft in the Escape Hybrid, so it's likely they'd stick with what they're experienced with on the Maverick.

Ford uses eAWD on the Lincoln Corsair which is essentially an Escape.

I was hoping for a motor in a rear diff/ the rear hubs but in the build-n-price it shows a driveshaft when AWD hybrid is selected. Seems unwise to add mechanisms that lose efficiency & subtract from current output rather than add to it.

But I’m no engineer so 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Hopefully there have been some incremental improvements to the eCVT aside from adding an output shaft.

Looking forward to seeing more about it.

Thanks @Shay 👍🏼

Any changes to the eCVT other than the addition of a pto shaft?

No. The Escape and Corsair have the exact same system that is now in the Maverick AWD Hybrid. NOT a rear motor eAWD setup.

Don't have that level of detail at the moment.
I'm wondering what Ford did to the HF55 to make it able to tow 4000 lbs. I know the hybrid AWD now comes with more cooling, but the specs of the HF55 are identical to the HF45 as far as power output goes (or maybe they derated it for the Maverick AWD) and I'm wondering if the rest of the internals are the same. Would be interesting to know.

I have to admit I feel a little FOMO having the FWD hybrid now.

Not going to argue with you further than this point. Your are patently incorrect. Ford DOES NOT build a hybrid powertrain in ANY VEHICLE which has a separate electric motor drive unit at the rear axle. The Corsair, the Escape and the Maverick all use the same conventional "transmission/PTU/driveshaft" powertrain configuration. Do your research beyond marketing terms found on a consumer grade website.

Ford Maverick 2025 Maverick Hybrid AWD drivetrain details? 1722915765542-1v

Electric All-Wheel-Drive Corsair Grand Touring provides greater levels of performance with an additional electric motor integrated into the rear axle to help provide improved performance and all-wheel-drive capability. The electric motor works in concert with the hybrid drivetrain powering the front wheels. The electric All-Wheel-Drive (eAWD) unit consists of a permanent magnet motor attached to a single-speed gearbox with a differential driving the rear wheels. The additional motor delivers more power and torque to provide effortless acceleration and pull-away with a greater level of performance. Increased power to the rear gives Corsair greater balance, along with a smooth, quiet and nimble drive
https://arstechnica.com/cars/2024/0...nice-design-but-too-many-rattles-and-squeaks/

Under the hood you'll find a 165 hp (123 kW) 2.5 L four-cylinder gasoline engine, which uses the more-efficient Atkinson cycle and drives the front wheels via a PowerSplit electric CVT transmission. (This uses a pair of electric motors and a single planetary gear set, with no clutches or torque converter or rubber belts.) The rear wheels are powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates 67 hp (50 kW) and 110 lb-ft (150 Nm). (Lincoln chose not to disclose a combined torque figure for the powertrain.)

And still no known service manual that is Tremor specific lol. We had to wait for users to compare the PTU system to other C2 platform vehicles just to get confirmed fluid change processes.

I miss the days of Haynes manuals covering everything within the first year.
