So, has anyone ever gone back and added Nav? I think that a Nav module can be bought for a about 800 dollars but not sure how it would be installed.

I've had my Mav for a week now, and questions have come up. First, mine is an XLT. One the blind spot detection feature, is there an audible warning or just he light in the mirror?

Another annoyance is having to push OK every time the seat belt screen comes up. I read in the manual the many steps to disable certain seats.

Getting in and out of the truck, my wife and I end up occasionally hitting the inside door panels with our shoes and it scuffs the panels. What is a good item for cleaning the panels off while at the same time protecting the panels?

The Ok button every time I start to drive is so redundant but the real pain is switching to Eco mode every time. I go the hybrid (XLT) for a reason, fuel economy, yet I have to switch drive modes every time. What’s further frustrating is the other Center consoles buttons like the auto stop brake (what ever it’s called) stays on/off between turning car off /on? So why can’t the dive mode… shouldn’t it be a programming thing?

I have a 2024 XLT also.
I generally plug in my android phone and use android auto which displays google maps. That may be an option instead of getting NAV.
I think there is only the lights on the mirrors for the blind spot warning, I have never noticed an audible warning, but I am also hard of hearing.
The seatbelt indicator will disappear after a few blocks on mine but I usually press the OK button to dismiss (minor PIA). When a mobile tech came to install a software update I asked him about this and he looked into it and said he didn't find or know of option to change this feature.
I use ArmorAll cleaning wipes on my plastic panels and think it works well, it is not like original ArmorAll it doesn't put a greasy film down. Not sure how much protection it adds.

As far as navigation goes.
Therefore I still prefer the old school Garmin and an actual printed road atlas between my seat and console. Especially on a trip new to an area.
I've used Android auto and my phone with Google and with Waze.
Areas between my properties Nevada and Utah have spotty cell phone reception. some places in the mountains have none at all. 30 minutes from my house I can have no cell phone reception.

Door sill, threshold and kick panel protection
I am TESTING rubberized grip tape on the actual door sills. So far, my test is showing that the door sill does not get too many scuffs on the grip tape.

For the threshold and the door kick panel/storage area. I am TESTING a thin clear releasable vinyl similar to ppf. I seem to scuff the plastic threshold in the door kick panel more.
Being clear I hope the pictures show the marks.

My wife might take off her shoe, too, but it would only be to hit me with it. :ROFLMAO:

SEAT BELT Warning LIGHT.
Your choice
PRESS OK OR LEAVE IT BE?
How long does the the seat belt light stay illuminated?
Members have said everything from a few seconds 🥴 to 2 minutes. 🥱
When I went out this morning I timed it. The seat belt warning light stays illuminated for 60 seconds, before turning off. So it is your choice to leave it alone or push ok to turn it off .
You DO NOT have to push the ok button.
I do agree it is annoying.
Take care.

Built in Navigation is so much better because it is coming from a satellite. If you use Apple car play or Android auto it uses cell phone towers and it will always keep your trip closest to cell towers. With satellite it sees you all the time. I have run into this on long trips from Indianapolis to Tennesse. Car play and Android auto wants to take me thru Cincinatti OH where as the built in Navigation always takes me thru Louisville KY which is much faster but cell phone towers can be sometimes out of range. If you add Navigation it will require a satellite antenna on top of your vehicle. My Ford Transit Connect Wagon has an antenna on top above the driver side. It is a small 3 inch round dome.

Also people have swapped in SYNC3 and even SYNC4 to the Maverick XL and XLT with Navigation.

GARMIN
Cheap, accurate, free and easy updates, portable.
Built in Nav breaks . . . GOOD LUCK at the dealer and bring MONEY.
Garmin breaks . . . pitch it out the window and look for a Best Buy or Walmart.

You are correct. Exactly what I said in my post above. My Garmin has never lost reception.
The only thing I would add is. When on a trip. I keep a Road Atlas between my seat and the console.
Other times it stowed under the rear seat.

I use this. When I need to see "The Big Picture.". The phone just won't cut it.

I have a map of my state in the truck and all six states touching Iowa. Also have a US Atlas in the truck. For any long trip, I print out a Google Maps of the route.
