It's about 2' shorter than my '98 Ram single cab with a short box. You have to go back a while to get a full size truck that's smaller than the Mav. 😬

That maybe true but the video points out different models and years that attest to the fact. If you notice the video is not saying the Maverick is longer than this years trucks. It does show that it's footprint at least in length is not as short as many think, especially comparing it to past trucks.

A Maverick is definitely not as wide as the trucks from the '80's - '90's.

Fits in the urban "2 car" garage, just by inches. Lengthwise maneuvers a lot like the narrow but long Ford Fusion IMO.

Compared to the 2006 Colorado that it replaced, it is about 2 in. wider and 3" shorter, and a bit taller.

But a '48, '52, or '63 standard bed was shorter, but with a longer bed and shorter cabin; ditto for my Dad's '72 Dakota.

The important thing for me was that it fits in my garage! A Ranger or a new generation Colorado will not!

My Maverick fits in my garage next to my '11 Fusion and '05 Mustang, so I am happy.

Saw this video and thought it worthy of posting.

Maverick is basically the same size as the previous Ranger sits a little lower but has the full crew cab.

Both 2023 Ranger and the 2023/24 Maverick were crew cabs. The Ranger had a 126.9 wheelbase vs 121.1 on the Maverick.

Ground clearance pretty comparable the Ranger 2wd is 8.4 inches and 8.9 on the 4wd. The Maverick FWD is 8.3 and 8.6 on the AWD yes less but about a little over an 1/64 to 1/4 of an inch. Not sure if the 2023 Ranger offered options to increase ground clearance like the tremor package on the Maverick 9.4.

If your talking about the original Ranger in 1983 it had a 107.9 inch wheelbase in comparison.

Still a pretty close comparison for both.

Look at one of the videos about CAFE standards, and you'll understand why this is the case.

The larger the truck is, the lower the gas mileage it has to meet in order to avoid fines under CAFE. The regulations basically made it too expensive to build truly smaller trucks like we used to have. It's why there are fewer sedans or station wagons being made as well, unless they're hybrid or electric. You want to know why everything is an SUV or truck now, that's your number 1 reason.

I was thinking of the 2011 one because it looks very close to the Maverick size. Sits a bit higher than my Maverick but not as high as the newer Rangers do
