Painted Steelies matte black

Kept seeing others posts, was debating about after market. Realized it was just the color I wanted changed. Sanded, cleaned, 3 coats matte black, 2 coats matte clear. Pretty happy with the results.

If I had steelies, I would have done almost the same thing. I would have left the hubs chrome and added trim rings.
For this look.

So how did you do it? Did you take the tires off, or did you paint them with the tires on???

Had to take them off so not to spray the discs. Was easy enough, Jack, Jack stand, Jack and when done just rotated the tires for convenience.

I have a CG HYB XLT and orange pinstriped the outer rims but that sure looks good.I might have to do that-I bought a set of Steelies (with 7K on tires)for cheap and might do a switch after the original tires "tire" out

I ordered my trim rings from Amazon. I think it was 32.00 for 4 rings.

Those look good! I'm not a huge fan of black wheels as they generally hide all the details, but with basic steelies and the black trim, I think this looks just right. The matte color was a great choice too.
