Has anyone installed the Demco Air Force 1 braking system on their Maverick? Looking for assistance on the brake vacuum line installation. Not really seeing a brake booster like normal, so looking for any photos of an existing installation. Thanks everyone!

There is no vacuum brake booster on the Maverick. Won't work, because the Maverick can drive without the engine running to pull a vacuum.
The Maverick has electric brake assist.
There will be no reliable source of vacuum even if you tap into an intake manifold port. The engine isn't running while flat towing, so no vacuum.
Auxiliary braking systems will have to have a pump to provide their own vacuum or air pressure ( if not coach provided).

I just purchased the AF1, in the manual there are instructions for plugging the vacuum port. Not installed yet. I’m out of town so I can’t post a picture.

Plug the input vacuum port (2-3ā€ piece of the 3/8ā€ hose and either use the barbed plug AF1 provides, or shove a bolt in it and put a hose clamp on it). I just finished my install 2 days ago. Leave the exhaust port open. Instructions are pretty clear on that. ā€˜24 hybrid. Quick and easy Install, just need the power for the breakaway and if you use the LED. Also, getting 3.5ā€ of stroke on the actuator is a challenge…You can’t really use that bolt on the accelerator pedal housing (although it is very tempting) as that puts the actuator between your foot when on the accelerator and a direct slide to the brake pedal (well, maybe if you have a size 4 foot). A very big safety problem for me (size 11 shoe). I had to go all the way to the back of the bump out for the steering shaft. If you do that…be very careful. There is a brake line right along the engine side of that wall, and a high voltage line is also within screw’s length. Try carefully drilling a small pilot hole and then seeing what is in the way on the other side of the firewall. I know the picture looks like the cable isn’t attached to the actuator…just a lighting issue.

Brian. Thanks for these great photos. I hope to finally get the AF1 completed this weekend. I have towed the Maverick about 2K miles without it, with no issues, but I want the breakaway feature to be active for safety. I'll post some photos when I get everything buttoned up. Safe travels!
