Best best is to never let your gas tank get this low. I was always told this is not good for the fuel pump if you do it regularly as when it gets low it can overheat because the fuel helps keep it cool.

Very true..I filled up earlier said 408 to E drove 42 Miles and it now reads 410 to empty sooo there's that..lmaoThere's 2.5 gallons in the tank WHEN you reach MTE zero.
OK to run to the computed zero every week because of the reserve.
Computer zero is not the real zero.
The manual says there is extra but doesn't specify how much. " In addition, the fuel tank contains an empty reserve. The empty reserve is an unspecified amount of fuel that remains in the fuel tank when the fuel gauge indicates empty. See Fuel Tank Capacity . "There's 2.5 gallons in the tank WHEN you reach MTE zero.

That's why I'm telling you what myself and others have done. The manual says there is extra but doesn't specify how much. So the the 16.5 gallon capacity on the Ecoboost could be more like 17.5 gallons.
Wow, so a 19 gallon tank, that’s crazy extra gas. Thank you for the additional input. Now everyone is going to start running their tanks to EThat's why I'm telling you what myself and others have done.
I have burned then refilled 16.5 gallons in a hybrid. Others have burned and refilled nearly 19 gallons in an E.B. Recommended or not, these are the physical capacities.
I think you get it; but let's be sure.Wow, so a 19 gallon tank, that’s crazy extra gas. Thank you for the additional input. Now everyone is going to start running their tanks to E![]()
possibly 18.5, interesting.I think you get it; but let's be sure.
"E" is the mark your gauge hits after you have burned 16.5 gallons.
Your engine stops running after you burn 18.x gallons.
