This is all related to the Hybrid exhaust heat exchanger, which could get water ingress into one of the circuit boards, causing the system to fail. I assume US members will receive similar letters soon for this issue.

Thx for the heads up. Another possible recall! 🤦‍♂️. I thought I read somewhere NTHSA only concerned with possible deaths with faulty equipment. I’m not sure if USA will be as considerate.

This is a customer Satisfaction Program, not a recall. What's the difference? Good question, but from an owner standpoint it's the same at the end of the day.

It's not a recall, it's a customer satisfaction program. It's extended warranty coverage for the specified issue.

Well I’ve seen some owners with faulty heat exchangers on the forums. Cross my fingers I don’t have this issue- especially after warranty.

Although mine is a late 2023 model that might explain why my Malfunction light is on but only steady. Have an appointment with the dealer to have it checked out on the 19th.

This shows up in my app for my vehicle, but never received a letter either. I had my lights malfunctioning and also have water leaking into the cabin. I wonder if both are because of this issue.

I unlikely, water in the cabin has usually been an issue with the seal around the front window.

The exhaust gas heat exchanger is under the vehicle near the HV battery.

Gotcha thanks. I did have my front window replaced at the beginning of this year. Hopefully they don't make me jump through hoops and go through Safelite. It's coming in behind the center console and by the floorboards though so don't think it is a window seal issue.

Nope, sounds more like the seal that lets water into the AC.

Hmmmm, might be the cause of a pending code I found a little while back.

Ford Maverick Letter from Ford for 24N04 (Hybrid Exhaust Gas Heat Recovery System) IMG_1901

“Code P237F indicates that there is a problem with the exhaust heat exchanger exhaust bypass valve A control performance. This means that there is an issue with the computer controlling the flow of exhaust gases through the heat exchanger.”

The code eventually cleared on its own. Off to check on the Ford site!
