Went to a different dealer. They said they never heard of any brake issues. I said Ford has a TSB for the issue, you can look it up. He looks at me as if to say "I don't think so, I have never heard of it." So I look it up myself online to the get number for him. Sheesh!

I said another dealer tried to do the update but it still feels bad. Can you just try it again? He agreed to look at it. I said, even if you can't duplicate my problem, can you just please just perform the TSB update.

Well, they did the update and it is finally FIXED! No more brake "clunk" and no more low speed "grabs."

I don't know why is so hard to convince them to do an official Ford service!

It sometimes comes back. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I had the update done a year ago.
Day after I was "Ya, so much better!"

I notice grabby brakes every day now.
After my first update, it felt "a little" better, but came back daily too.

Since this is a software update, I think the new update is much better than the first. I can feel the difference right away. Hopefully, it doesn't come back again. haha

TSB 22-2493

That TSB was superseded by an emissions recall.....

Here's the most up-to-date TSB relating to HEV Maverick brakes: 23-2248 2.5L FHEV - Shudder/Vibration When Vehicle Is Braking At 15 MPH (24 Km/H) Or Below - Built On Or Before 11-Apr-2023

PCM and other "coordinated" modules are updated.

There have been many PCM updates since this issue first came out. If you had PCM updated originally in 2023...the most recent update may be a big improvement on that as well!

22-2493 supersedes to 23E07.... For this one, the PCM is updated for emissions reasons, but same PCM update was was given in the TSBs, so they just have the dealer perform the recall.

Bottom line, any recent PCM update on 22 & 23 Mavericks should improve the braking issues.
