Anybody else hoping their current vehicle lasts until your Maverick arrives?

Are you limping your car along to the finish line?

96 Geo Prizm 210K with a stong engine that hardly burns oil(I rebuilt 10 years when swapped the 1.6 for a 1.8 out of my wrecked car. Transmission is a manual that I also swapped from auto that is still good. It has just been hit to many times, rusting out but not in critical spots. Front and rear suspension needs to be all replaced. Some strange battery draw that I have not looked in to.
Gets 30 MPG and has my sound system in it. Had a H.O. alt in it so I used it to jump my CMV. Then when I got a 2nd job then pretty much stopped driving it.
Also have a 95 Dodge Dakota 5.2 V8 that I use daily now because my 2nd job makes me use my vehicle. Gets 10MPG with almost 200k on it. Rusting out and alignment shops wont touch it. Started having fueling issues that I have to look in to.
They will make it but hopping I don't have to do anything to them. The Geo will go to my stepson or the scrap yard once done. The Dakota sell it just to get rid of it.

I have an 06’ Corolla 5 speed with almost 230k on it. I’ve put about 20k on it in the last year, so I’m pretty confident.

Someone on here said something about how Toyotas are amazing reliable vehicles, but have no soul, and I completely agree. I love my Toyota, but god is it terrible to drive….

Got to 340K miles with my 2005 Camry LE. Was getting concerned about the trans and suspension. Most of the miles were highway. Sold it a few month ago for $2200.

Filler post I know, but I was curious to see if anybody else was like me. I have a 2010 Focus with 155,000 miles on her and while she still performs, she is aging horribly. Between the suspension replacement and the subsequent re-boring of the front steering knuckles, i'm in more on this car than I will probably get for my trade in. I'm just hoping I can limp her along until I get my Mav.

So my question is, what are you driving and are you going to make it to your Maverick?
I'll have to extend my lease. My lease is up in December.

I gave my Ford C-Max hybrid to my kid when I first ordered my truck because the dealership said October delivery.... :)

Had to go out and buy a vehicle with 136,000 just to squeak by until the truck shows up. Bought it from the dealer ship and spoke to the sales guys and finance guys in hopes when the truck arrives I can trade this in and not get overly whacked on the trade in side.

Fingers crossed it will be here soon.
I ordered a Hybrid Lariat with the Luxury Package.

I am fortunate enough to not have to worry about vehicle transportation before the Mav arrives--even if that doesn't happen until well into 2022. It's just me and my wife and we have 4 cars to choose from (although I don't want to drive the fourth (a Vette) in bad weather). Ordered the Mav in early July and then sold our 5th vehicle (my 2019 Ranger) later that month to take advantage of the very high used car values. Was anticipating getting the Mav by October, but that ain't happening.

Knew my car would make it, just didn’t want to pour money into tires, brakes, wiper motor. So ended up buying an ecoboost, but now have my hybrid scheduled for December. Will have a tough decision to make when the hybrid gets delivered.

I'm hoping my 2004 Beetle makes it. I just turned over 200K miles on it this month. I work from home, so that helps keep the mileage down. She runs ok and looks good from the outside. My most recurring problem has been bulb failure. The interior has become unglued due to its age and the interior driver side door handle needs to be glued back on. The pump for the windshield fluid went out about a year ago (didn't bother replacing it). The pop-up spoiler was disconnected a few years ago. It would go up ok, but when it tried to close it sounded like a machine gun.
I have the car scheduled for its 200K checkup next week. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to need tires. I'm hoping that I can find some inexpensive ones to put on it since it'll be next year before I see my Maverick. If they tell me something else needs to be replaced, I'm going to ask if it is critical to my safety (like tires). Otherwise it can be one more thing for someone to deal with.

My wife is a rural route carrier and our kids go to school 30 miles away. But I love where I live. It's worth everything
Wow, with all the stopping (assuming your getting a hybrid) your wife may get 50+ mpg!

Oh yeah.. driving a 2000 BMW with 183k miles and counting after I sold my car. It was my old car before I had bought a new one and it had been sitting in my parent’s driveway. Drove it home and it survived the truck across the mountains. Got it running for like $500. But if you guys know about German cars, you'll know they leak oil.. a lot. I fill up my gas next to an Auto-zone so I can refill the oil at the same time.

Wife and I also share one car and we both have professional careers, and two crazy busy kids. We bought our home specifically so I could walk to work and now I work primarily from home. We also bike a lot (the grocery store, kids' sports practices, parks, library, etc.). It was a lifestyle decision, and one of the best we've ever made. We don't need a 2nd car, but we'll keep the current car (only has ~57k miles) as the primary commuter whenever the Maverick comes.
Dang, I wish I had kept a diary. You reminded me of a divorced bicycle rider I knew who always rode everywhere except to jog. Once a year he would air up the tires (sometimes would have to take them one at time in his bicycle trailer to air them up) on his ancient Carmen gia which he had painted with a foam paint brush to go on vacation. He would renew his car tag and buy insurance, which he would cancel a few days after he got back home. He would put the car on blocks in his garage so they would be easier to take off the next time. I am glad you enjoy your life style and your family, but remembered this when you said you walked to work and rode a bike.
