Tail Lights stayed on for over 20 minutes

I went into my truck to grab my phone, sat down, and 20 minutes later I noticed my tail lights were on. The headlights and front indicators were off. I checked the doors and they were shut fully. The headlamp dial was set to auto. Why would just the tail lights stay on for over 20 minutes?

If it does it again, double-lock the truck (hit the Lock button on the fob twice) and see if that makes them go off. IIRC, someone posted in the past about the same issue, and double-lock turned them off.

That is a bandaid fix.

Lights shouldn't stay on.

OP. What year ?

2023 XLT Hybrid. I picked it up last May.

Oh, I totally agree. But it is something one can do until they can get the software updated.
