Burning Smell going UP a mountain road for 15-20 minutes

Thank you for the replies... It started after about ten minutes into the part where we were climbing pretty fast from 2500 feet to 6000+

• No other issues with the truck.
• Popped the hood upon return and nothing to report. Oil looked new and smelled right

I can't really recreate the conditions around town so maybe I just wait until I go back to the mountains I guess. Still considering a trip to the dealer but what a time suck...

Probably part of "break in".

I experienced the same.

Everything is oil coated / lubricated at the factory. Even the nuts and bolts as appropriate. You got something "warm" but within limits for the first time generating the smells. Probably.

I drove up Mt Baldy road (about 20 minutes). Absolutely no use of brakes and started smelling a burning smell (maybe a little like skunk combined with hot braking smell). I have a 2024 XL Hybrid that just turned 2,000 miles.

Any ideas? Reddit is a crapshoot with people saying its "just burning in" a new engine all the way to "battery issues." Just trying to figure out if its worth a trip to the dealer to have them check it. Thank you in advance... - Erik
