We just traded our 2020 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk on a 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid to use as our motorhome "toad." Big change, but we just switched from a 39' diesel pusher to a Class B+ on a Ford chassis with V6 EcoBoost, so had to lighten the toad a bunch, and since my wife is all done with "Jeeping," this little gas-sipper fits the bill.

First thing to order is a base-plate for towing the Mav, and after reading info posted here, I'll get a Demco ordered right away. But the wife insists we add a tonneau cover, and I see the value of that. etralier.com lists a bunch of these, and all appear to be within my ability to install... without drilling. But which to choose?? What have others here chosen, and why? Also, what was your source? All suggestions welcome!

[A newbie here. I first posted this in what I discovered is a For Sale thread. Sorry.]

UPDATE, 5/21
Decisions made
, thanks to information offered in replies here, other threads here, and continued research sparked by the comments on this thread. Thank you everyone!

The Demco base plate and wiring kit is on order and will be installed next week by Lampert Hitch in Arvada, Colorado. They've done most of our Jeep base plates in the past.

I decided I wanted to be able to choose to add common rack systems to my Maverick in the future, if needed, so that altered my tonneau cover search significantly. I just place an order at a local Autoplex for the BAK Revolver X4ts. I'm paying a little more than I would if I ordered from RealTruck online, but 1) I can pat myself on the back for supporting local business (smug grin with eye roll) and 2) I need an installer.

Still recovering from surgery, under pressure to get a bunch of stuff done before our early June trip utilizing all this stuff, and bowing to my concerned wife's preference for me to attend to other things around the homestead that have slipped behind during recovery, I'm letting experts do my installations.

Tonneau covers there are many styles and functions and it comes down to your personal prefernce
I spent a considerable amount of time doing my research. My choice was
BakFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover. I was choosing between a DiamondBack & the BackFlip. Cost certainly was a determining factor as the DiamondBack was much more costly. But it you RV like me it might be worth your investment. These were my 2 choices

It's a little bit pricey, but I'd recommend the Truxedo Sentry CT. I've had mine about a year and a half, and it still looks new.

Picked up my Maverick in January and installed a BakFlip MX4. Went on easily and I am happy with it so far. If you message the Real Truck rep on here or call them (they are a Maverick Truck Club sponsor) you most likely will get a nice discount.

Amazon.com: Soft Roll Up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover Fits for Ford Maverick 4.6ft Bed (55.2") 2022 2023 2024 : Automotive

We put this one on are 22 for the money its on par with the Tuxedo brand thick vinyl, square tube with welded caps for the ribs. Put a little lube on the bolts for the clamps or they bind stainless on aluminum. Oh and uses a cam and wedge latch that makes it easy to get really tight. with a one hand cable release.
Thanks for the link - very handy!

OEM Rev X2 rolling hardcover. I love it! Got it during Ford's 15% off sale plus I cashed in some points and got it on the cheap. Otherwise it would have been a Truxedo Sentry CT. Truxedo makes great stuff.

The OEM is great though because it offers security and can be operated close to open to close one handed. Way easier than a hard folding cover.

If I had to go back I'd probably get the BAKflip MX4 - folding, not roll up type. I think it's one of the better looking ones, but a bit pricey. Every time I see a Maverick with it from various angles, it just looks factory like it blends in with the beds plastics.

I have been using a LoMax cover for the past 3 trucks I've owned because they were cheaper. Not really the case now, as they are $1k+ everywhere I checked, but I never paid over $800 for them. This thing NEVER shows dirt or debris. It's like a bed liner but not so abrasive or "matte" and porous. I have more pics @ my build page in my sig, but here is one:

I'm not sure I'd pay what they are currently asking though, which leads me to the next option that is a Rough Country. Pretty cheap one and I think a couple people have said it's good quality too. Currently less than $700.

Another one I like is the "OEM" one, that displays the FORD logo, but I think they removed that part? Here is the thread on it. I think I just like it for the logo though, lol.

I am also in the same boat deciding which one to purchase.

I think the warranty is going to be a big part of my decision as it seems most of these covers don't hold up for what you pay for them.

Thanks to everyone who has replied to this thread! I've decided that tomorrow I will go to my local Ford dealership where we bought our Maverick and visit with the gentleman who introduced himself during our purchase process as the guy in charge of accessories. I may go with the OEM cover and, for only $60, have them install it since I'm strapped for time this month. (Whether or not it still includes a Ford logo, Montana! ;+) Online, it looks like the 15% mentioned by Jim from Indiana is still available - or I have some points available to apply.

I purchased the trifold Extang signature 2.0. I had it on a previous truck and was very pleased with it. I could easily install it and remove if necessary. At $549 it is half the price of a hard trifold.

I have not bought yet but am leaning towards a roll-up by truck2go. Look at the available T-Slot and the available combinable rack!

I also purchased a maverick to tow behind our class C. I decided to go with revolver X4ts so I can add a rack for things like kayaks.

This is the hard tri fold cover I bought on e-bay a month or so ago:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/266637720221

It's a great looking cover. Easy to install and use. Seems to be quite waterproof. At $345, the price was awesome.

The same cover, possibly under different names, is also available on Amazon at a slightly higher price.
