A bunch of people on reddit complain about this screen. So I find how to disable it. Then I post about it on here and everyone on Maverick Truck Forums swear they have never seen the screen in their life. :cwl:

Im guessing youre booting into CarPlay or android auto almost immediately ??
That could also be it for me. But likely the first reasons you mentioned.

Either way, it's cool you found a work around and everything still works. Those pop ups are annoying. My Escape Hybrid had one that would pop up basically saying "watch the road" lol. Like... why? It would happen when there were rockfall alerts in the area (every single day, duh, mountains) and another annoying one was the windshield washer fluid being low because it would consume the gauge cluster. Pretty sure the EB Maverick does it too, but it's rare I get that low with it. The Escapes reservoir was half the size of the Mavericks. Anyways... Trailing. Cool fix!

I agree! Pop Ups like "Engine Overheating" I don't mind! Like please tell me the important information but pop ups that tell me useless information while driving is honestly a hazard and dangerous. It is far too common in newer vehicles!

Random fact but sooo many German vehicles have the worst washer fluid reservoirs and coolant reservoirs. The plastic always cracks when they age and they are just terrible. specifically early 2000s VW, AUDI, PORSCHE. They just crack and leak and they are ridiculously expensive to replace!

Temp displays? lol... what are those?

Apparently dead tech on modern vehicles.

That is kinda shocking. As much as the German engineering is praised, sometimes it's a labyrinth of trying to hard and failing to keep it simple. I think the 2nd gen v6's in the Rangers were designed by German engineers and it showed if you had top end problems. What should have been easy work required basically removing the entire engine. Widely used for a long time, but a PITA.

It's like they apply the Nurburgring principles for what a race track should be to everything they do. "Ist besser" 🧐

Anyways, I remember seeing a post here about the size of the reservoir and I compared it to the Escapes with part numbers. At least this one holds a full gallon. You could barely get half a gallon in the Escape and it sucked during bug season.

We need the extra washer fluid in the Maverick for all those BUGS ON THE WINDSHIELD! LOL

and yeah I just used engine overheating as an example. Maybe a better example of an important and useful pop up would have been "Tire Pressure LOW" or "Transmission Error". and this would happen (pop up) maybe once in 10 years. While that stupid data usage screen pops up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that you start the vehicle and literally has no useful purpose at all lol

That is crazy about the escape wiper fluid reservoir like who was the engineer who designed that? And who thought that was a good idea? They should have just deleted the fluid reservoir tank and thrown in a bottle of windex with every new Escape

I will say whatever the pump is they are using is the same on the Maverick, and it has some arterial spray to it lol. One squirt is like 1/8th a gallon and covers the entire vehicle.

Again on the German engineering:

Not sure if that uses less or more... but awesomely complicated and a nightmare if it goes out.
"That'll be $300 for a wiper blade please!".

And on the same subject so as not to derail too much.. my god, the amount of ambient lighting in that car. Not distracting at all...

Just wanted to say thanks for finding this! I get it regularly in my '22 XLT, most often when the android auto is slow to connect or after a restart after a short trip. Hate that screen, so this is super appreciated!
