yeah, because of additives and contaminants, but if his KOM is lower than +1, that's a sign that he needs better fuel.
True. But it’s also why I asked brand of fuel. I can get KOM +1 with brand A and brand B but one knocks more often than the other and both are supposed to be 93 octane.

I have to go home one of these evenings and just plug the handheld in my laptop. Make sure everythingā€˜s good to go first and then plug it into my truck and see if I can get some real time gauge type settings on the screen so I can watch my knock. I’m not super good with all that stuff I can try and watch what it does and post my results.
Right on! Good luck. A good tuner walks you through all that stuff because they do it everyday and deal with us enthusiasts who don’t lol. If you get revisions they should tell you specifically what to data log and how to do it.

Earlier in the thread, it was mentioned that a Livernois customer had been waiting weeks for a tune. I expressed some concern since I sent my request for a tune on Saturday evening. For the record, I received my tune today. That's a turnaround of 1.5 working days. I'm looking forward to loading it tomorrow.

I just took my first drive after loading the tune from Livernois. It's an amazing difference. The shifting is greatly improved on top of the hp increase. I hope you get things sorted soon, you're in for some fun.

So you should be able to connect your mycal handheld to your truck. In the menu that first pops up and has performance tunes at the top. You can click on the one that says gauges. You can pick which gauges you want to watch as you drive. The data log functions are separate. That being said

Livernois hardware is much more in depth than say an acces port. So you may not need any revisions. Most of them don’t need any revisions. Heck mine were so spot on on two of mine that when dyno tuned I gained only 2-3 whp.
Now because we can’t get into the mycal.
The way it was explained to me was that Cobb allows changes to certain tables and relies on the other to auto adjust. With the Livernois hardware they write many more of the programs so less auto ajust and much stronger and safer ā€œcannedā€ tunes if you Will. This was backed up by Randy from Tuneworks. Formally head tuner at montune.
I must say you gotta respect a guy like him that tells the truth even if it sways someone away from his work.
What I bet you have is a failure of the file to load to the truck. Either it’s not in your mycal to load or it is not actually loading in the truck.

Ok guys, update. So just found out the main sales guy at lms has moved on. Seems some emails may have been overlooked. They are working on that. So I would recommend a follow up as new emails are being forwarded to another sales rep.
That’s the second sales guy I lost since I’ve used them. Can’t blame them though. When one of the big 3 offer a job. Good idea to take it.
Hopefully that puts some minds at ease.

Ya it should be a big difference. I have it on my wife’s 2.0 edge. And going the e30 tune is about the same difference as going from 87 stock to 93 Oct tune.
I’m super happy with my 93 Oct tune now just thinking I’ve swapped everything to e85 so that would be easiest. But would require a new set of injectors.

So that is what I assumed also since that’s what I needed for my rs, but was told by Livernois it only requires injectors.
That got me curious. I also didn’t need to upgrade my hpfp for my 23 3.5 to go e85
just new injectors. So maybe ford is making progress.
